Actually MF is basically the GC online store. They are one and the same. Go to the GC website and go to the online store or whatever it is and see what pops up. They don't sell EXACTLY the same stuff, but they're certainly affiliated.
How do you even know it isn't supposed to be $199?
Yeah, it shows $280 crossed out in the magazine, but they never sold it for that. It has had like $250 or something around that crossed out and said $169 for the 993 pair since they came out in about September. All their new exclusive MXL...
Thanks for changing your font. That's much easier on the eyes. :)
For some reason, MF doesn't sell any normal MXL mics by themselves anymore. They have a different version of pretty much every one now. That's kind of weird. They obviously have some kind of deal going with eachother, but...
Thank you, that is very nice to know. They appear to have been relabeling quite a few mics and selling them through MF for cheaper with not much changed. I was hoping that was the same case here because $200 is quite a deal. I think I'll have to check it out.
Could you please not post in...
I really wish someone would do a mic shoot out with the Solaris and M179. Some people really love one or the other, but unfortunately, it seems that no one has ever compared the two.
A Solaris is about twice the price of a M179, though. Hmm...
You mean for UK people getting them, or for people in the US without ordering directly? Right now, I think the shipping charge to the US on the drum mic kits is something like $120.
If you ask me, the REAL problem with Behringer stuff is that 99/100 times, you can buy something better than their rip off stuff for the same price or only a little higher.
Most definitely. That's what I was about to suggest you look at. The Audio Buddy seem to have a few issues, such as not having enough phantom power and being easily overloaded. I don't know why people recommend them at all because it is not in the "keeper quality" range if you ask me. Some...
I know that and I said that.
I said why don't people cut muddy bass out. When people just sit there and talk into them it is like "muh muh muh muh" or whatever other indistinguishable mumbo jumbo because it is so muddy.
I hate it when people eat mics and there is tons of proximity effect. Yeah, you need to get close to sound "full," but why don't they ever cut the muddy bass out of it? You can almost never understand what people are saying over a PA because of that, and it seems so simple to fix.
Mad Audio, are you saying you used two mics to record more than two toms? If so, then yeah, you should probably try putting a mic on each one. There's no way to tell if it helps or not unless you give it a go, and if it works, that'd save you a heck of a lot of money. :)
