    pretty cool....warning

Help me too! I have been stuck on one note for several years now. Its a good note but that's all I play. Its a note that happens when I play my guitar on the A string on the 11th fret. I've noticed some of my favorite bands like ARU and AVP play it a lot too. Can anyone help me find another...

    Best Acoustic Guitar Strings

Elixir forever I've used everything and now its only Elixir. First time I tried them on a Guild 12 string I was hooked. And they lasted 3 times longer without losing tone. Great strings. GC has 2or1 sale in March of 2002. Get a pair and try them out.

    Can Sonar Replace ACID 3.0?

Re: Sonar demo Heck, if you're hot on the trail of Sonar and you like Acid, you should at least look at Vegas Video/Audio 3. If you just want to record your stuff, its so darn easy you can't believe it. Multitracking madness and it works like a charm on XP. Easy to import tempo changed loops...

    Windows XP

XP is allright with me I changed out that piece of crap kt133a for a Asus A7m266 w/512 DDR ram. Yeehah! Stability, stability, stability. I'm going through old tracks, new tracks. Piling on tracks. Piling on plug-ins. Only time it burped was when I put 4 busses on Vegas 2.0. I then tweaked it...

    Athlon 1g Motherboard suggestions?

I've been one of those unfortunate users who has been limping along with a Via KT133 chipset (with George Breese patch). I'm looking for suggestions for another board that will provide greater stability. I'm tired of rebooting! What motherboards are you folks using with similar processors that...

    Help with 'phasing'

I've seen the term 'phasing' applied to using two mikes together at the same time. I know its not good but could someone help me and tell me what it 'sounds' like? How do you know if you're getting it? I'm trying to record acoustic guitars and mandolins. I have a stereo preamp with a phase rev...

Midi advice for a real beginner please

My brother sent me the following note. Since I record mostly acoustic instruments and am not that familiar with MIDI, I thought I'd post it for you experts to see what you think. Here is the message I received: My boss is a classically trained pianist. He won the South Carolina state...

    Vegas Audio Upgrade worth it?

db-audioware and XFX plug-ins I used both and db is superior for the limiters it provides. Better interface and sound quality in my opinion. Vegas 2 is worth the upgrade though and there are other effects that are beneficial there. Good luck.

    Fade outs in Vegas

Fade out You don't even need to add a volume envelope. Every track has a small square at the top of the beginning and end of the visual sound wave. Just drag the square and it will show you a fade in or fade out. You can then adjust it to any length or use various fade algorithms. Easy as pie.

NAME THOSE OLD NOW OBSCURE BANDS

First 8-track I ever bought was bloodrock. I had a portable 8-track player for the car and got that tape and Cactus. My mom wasn't too sure about the bloodrock tape!

NAME THOSE OLD NOW OBSCURE BANDS

Did these make anyone's list? Caravan or White Witch? You guys really jogged some memory cells with these listings. I was amazed at how many of these bands I've listened to over the years!

not too many threads posted in sonic foundry

"I'll be the roundabout..." Geez, it'd be nice if it was a bit easier, as in doing it on the fly, but its a minor complaint.

not too many threads posted in sonic foundry

Sonic Vegas site I've wondered about the lack of posts here too. Maybe this is enough to get it started. Does anyone know how to put effects on a master track in Vegas Audio. I can put them on individual busses but how does one compress or finalize the whole mix?
