Have you played your amp through the vintage 30 yet? IMO, that may be one of the worst speakers for the classic 30. It really accentuated the upper mid spike the amp has and was very shrill sounding .....at least to my ears. YMMV.

+1 I'd even say just get a BR-600. They're $349 new and give you a ton of sound for the money. Even someone as backwards and "not with it" as me can figure out how to get decent recordings on the thing.
