Hey, the Mac is running version 10.5.8 and has a 2Ghz Intel Core Duo Processor. And I was running Pro Tools version 7.0 but I just upgraded to 8 and now there are more problems. Whenever I load Pro Tools it finds it hard to locate the Mbox 2, so I have to keep unlpugging it and putting it back...

I'm a bit confused, it's probably obvious. But if I get Pro Tools 8, do I have to have an old version installed before hand? as it is labeled as an upgrade? I have Pro Tools 7 but it isn't installed at the moment, but would I have to get 7.4 then buy 8? Or can I just install it from scratch on...

Also it seems silly to me that they've removed the VGA input on the new models, so you have to buy a Mac Monitor :rolleyes: typical...Just more money!

Been searching around, and it's pretty complex to find the right one. All the newer models with better specs come installed with 10.6 making it difficult to find one with decent specs with 10.5 :confused:

Thing is I don't know if I cannot afford one of those models, they're pretty pricey aren't they. Hard disk size shouldn't matter too much right?

As much as 4GB RAM, really? :eek: Quite a lot, yea guess that makes sense, so I need to find find an Intel one, I'll look about on ebay, what kind of processing power would you recommend? What about something like this...

Whats more important to take into account anyway when running with Pro Tools? Is it the RAM, size of the hard drive or the Processor power? That ones 1.42GHz, 1GB RAM and 80GB hard drive.

I don't think the 001's go to much further than 6.9 or something like that, so it would not be worth purchasing one. I could be wrong, but I don' think so.

Ah I see. Installing it for free isn't the problem, it's that SL doesn't work with Pro Tools 8 yet. So do you think I should get a Mac Mini and just hope they fix it?
