look guys,
I appreciate you're trying to help, but with all due respect i still think some of you misunderstand, think i'm imagining or just doing unfair test.
if i want to sum it up basically, it goes like this:
I master a project with multi-mono files. i bounce it out as stereo interleaved...
maybe some of you misunderstood me:
when i process using multi-mono plugins, of course i do the same exact thing to both L and R channels. otherwise, yea- ill get a weird stereo image, and phase issues perhaps. the reason im doing that, instead of using stereo processing, is because im working...
hey guys,
im using pro tools 10 for mixing and mastering.
im exporting the final mix as multiple-mono file (2 mono files, for L and R, if you dont know..), and importing that into my mastering session.
there is goes from 2 mono tracks, to a stereo master bus, on which i do all the processing...
if im working on a song from start to finish, on a 24bit project, recording 24bit audio files through my able sound card, using high quality plugins and midi instruments, bouncing down to a 24bit wave stereo file for mastering, and then going through the mastering phase with the same 24bit...

Hey guys,
I got involved in mastering lately, working on my own, as well as other band's material. iv'e encountered something quite weird, and maybe one of you can shed a light on the subject.
I'm using Cubase5, and when i start a mastering session usually i import some songs from library to...
oh sorry, yeah that my previous mix. i just couldnt find it in the thread so i thought it didnt post correctly. never mind this one then.
ill be happy to hear your thoughts about the mix.
Here my version of the mix

Great performance by the band. good energies. arrangement is simple enough, so i tried to spice it up a little bit on my own.
Let me know whether you like it or not. iv'e put it through some limiting...
here's a good one:
lets say i have a mono audio channel. why does it sum it to mono on output?
as far as i can see there are 2 meters jumping together for this channel, and its going to stereo out- so why sum it?
if you want an example, lets say i take this mono channel, and insert a stereo...
Here's my mix for the second song
i really liked it.
besides a tiny bit of compression and eq (like 0.5dB changes) it has no other processing on the stereo bus- no fancy mastering, unlike my previous uploads.
let me know what you think...
Thank you guys.
maybe I overrated 'competition' in my original post, but to be honest, im just looking for a place where i can have access to quality tracks from all kinds of genres im close to, and just practice on them, have fun with them, and compare my work to those of others.
also, growing...
Hi guys, ive been reading here alot, but lately have started participating actively- specifically regarding mixing.
you can say it's my dream to one day be a mixing engineer. most of my activity you can see on the "mix this" forum, doing free mixes to forum members that upload original...
