Not sure about the screaming but my pc used to lose contact with my tascam AI when it would sleep or hibernate. Like the others said i just don't let it sleep anymore and instead just turn the monitor off when I'm not around or sleeping.

It's pretty processed but prob not autotuned...they're pretty good. Either way I usually find them pretty enjoyable.

Sometimes I like to use a graphic eq plug-in rather than parametric just because it lessens my options, which in my case is usually a good thing because I am indecisive sometimes and continually tinker. Granted, I can still tinker a lot with a graphic eq but it's more fixed.
