Yeah man! After doing some more research it seems r-values do indeed stack, so with my 2 pieces per trap the r-value will be more like 30. Although concerning r-values....I'm not actually sure if they matter or not. R-value is just how well it insulates. Maybe that relates to sound...

Ahh ok. I always see people say wood floors are great for reflections and such, but I assumed concrete would cause too much bounce.

...between a 10'x14' room with 8' ceilings, carpet and drywall, and 2 windows, or a 14'x20' room with concrete floors, cinder block walls, 1 window against the far wall, and open ceiling (you know...8' but with just the support beams and stuff showing)...for recording and mixing purposes...

Ok so I'm pretty sure this is possible in Cubase but I haven't gotten It to work yet. Say I'm doing a guitar solo...how can I set the section to loop and record like 4 or 5 passes? I can do the loop easily enough, but I always end up recording over my previous take.

So I think I'm gonna go with the original plan of using roxul safe'n'sound! I've been reading a lot on gearslutz and everyone really likes it and has had good results. Anyone else reading this gone this route before?
