Kewl. I'll take the hiss or whatever that is that accompanies the louder drums on the new mix. Like the changes in the arrangement too...more things for the listener to focus on and just a bit more structure...but not too much!

    Stop - Original glam/pop/rock song

I like it better with the bass where you have it now. Drives it along better. Did you do anything to the drums other than the kick? It seems like the cymbals are a tad brighter and the snare cracks a tiny bit more, which I like, but I could be imagining it I guess. mix 4 & 5 are not like...

    Two in a month...on a roll

Aw shit. Sorry man. I didn't know...I thought it was an address or something...really no idea. I'll shut up now.

    Uke Song #1

Sounds really nice overall! I like the simplicity of the arrangement. The bass provides a nice, solid underpinning to the whole thing. I wasn't crazy about the sound of the drums as something more organic would've suited me better on this, but they're not bad, and not really featured prominently...

Anybody need or want piano on a track....

Sweet! I don't have a song in the works, but this makes me want to start one. Thanks for the offer. You may be hearing from me if I can get my shit together.

    Stop - Original glam/pop/rock song

It's a great arrangement with solid performances and very creative as usual. I'm not crazy about the mix though, which seems a bit muddy to me (listening loud on HP280 phones). The bass guitar is really indistinct, and the drums have almost a dead quality to them like a blanket was placed...

    Two in a month...on a roll

Hey man. That's a catchy song title...? lol Anyway, this sounds pretty cool. I've listened a bunch of times now. The main synths are very warm and fat, the strings sound great when they first come in. The piano is super cool, but I wish it were louder and featured more on top a bit. I could've...

Oh yeah, this is much more open sounding now. Clarity is improved I think. Drums are a little on the lite side as bubba notes, but I think it's a good compromise to get the mix to seem less muffled than it did. Good job! Sorry, but the vocal counterpoint part that comes in at the end sounds...

Really liking this one. A little too minimalistic perhaps without a vocal or something else melodic in there, but sounding pretty good as is just with what you have. I actually think the drums already sound monstrous (they always do!), they just could come up in volume relative to everything...

    Post Your Analog Recordings Here...

Really like this one doc. Had just been checking you soundcloud lamenting that it had been months since your last track when this popped up! That lead tone is delicious. Drums captured with one mic, or submixed down to one track, or...? Forgetting the tonal palette that you tend to use (which...

    feel like an alien

Cool. Hope it's an enjoyable listen chuck. Thanks for checking it out. Thanks rob - good to get your thoughts. Actually I gave the Hammond away to some 16 year old kid who goes to school with my daughter. Man, was he excited to take that thing home! Felt pretty good actually vs. just selling...

    Velvet Underground -- Heroin (Cover)

Sheesh...third cover in here in a row where I've never heard the original. lol I think I've heard this title before though. The only song of theirs I've really heard all the way through is that one (probably their most popular?) where the colored girls go, do, do-do, do, do, do-do, do...I guess...

Pixies "Debaser" feat. Paulman77 on vocals.

Not familiar with this song either, so I can't do any comparisons for you, but I did think it sounded pretty good. I really enjoyed all of the performances. Bass guitar has a huge, fat sound right out of the gate that I thought would be overpowering, but it fits very nicely. Great drumming on...

    Outdoor Miner

Hey rob - caught this one on soundcloud earlier today. Not familiar with the original or the band in question, but from the other comments it sounds like you're doing a reasonably faithful cover here. Performances are great. Like the bass track especially. Vocals are all sounding good to me...

    Half Way There

Ah, good to hear something from you Tad. Stylistically and vocally, it sounds way different from what I remember of your other stuff. Nice job on the vocals btw... So, yeah, I guess the bass is a little loud/rumbly, but I didn't mind it that way, except that it seems to be clashing with, or...

More Solar Temple - Post Rock?

Cool. I like the way it's all mellow and gloomy to start, but gradually builds towards a fairly heavy ending. Really like the bit towards the end where the harmony guitars alternated with the crunchier bits. Nice. Mix-wise, I think it sounds pretty good for what I think you're going for. I...

    Feedback on my mix

I like the song and the recording. I think the vocal should come up quite a bit though. I caught some subtle plosives, only on the "P"s, but pretty much every one of them. It's not bad, but tough to hear as the vocal track is so low relative to the guitar. Rhythm guitar seemed a bit boomy to...

I don't really suffer from GAS (thankfully?). All I really purchase now is blank CDs, strings and picks. There are things I'd like to own of course if money were no object, but nothing more that I really need (and I don't have much!).

I have one electric guitar and one amplifier and have owned both since the early '90's. I've never modified either of them. Kind of boring I guess, but I've never really had that desire. I don't begrudge anyone who does though... I too had an '80's Japanese Squire strat ages ago which I sold to...
