    RAMI and Little Purple Circles

Thanks, everyone, for taking the time to listen and comment. Mr. Rami sure lays down a nice groove. But damn, I hadn't noticed the drums leaning to the right. But, that's one of the reasons why this place is so helpful. We'll have to see about straightening that out. It needs a little more...

    Rough mix.....stoner rock....halp!

Way cool. I love it. I listened on headphones, but it sounds pretty good to me. I like the guit tones. I don't think the vox are too loud, and they sound good. The kick and snare could probably use a little help as has been mentioned earlier. Please make more music!!!

"High Time" - 3rd try's the charm- an ode to 'catching a buzz'

Ah, yes. I forgot to mention: I listened on headphones. To look for that frequency that's bothering you, I would try slowly sweeping around with a drastically boosted eq until you hear that sound jump out at you. Then, cut back on that frequency. I've found that helpful a time or two before.

"High Time" - 3rd try's the charm- an ode to 'catching a buzz'

Cool. Good sounding recordings. Nice guit playing. No nits here. Sounds done to me!!! Nice job.

    Another wierd new tune.

Awesome. Sounds good. Excellent playing. Great odd time riff at the end. I'll have to take your word for it that it is in 13 time. I love stuff that takes a lot of paying attention to to figure out, time-wise. Keep stringing those riffs together, man.

Another Brick in the Wall - Pink Floyd Cover

Pretty cool. Huge Floyd fan here. The sound of the vox is very good. Or, it would be good if it were a little louder in the mix and at least half of the verb was rolled off. Strat sounds are all pretty nice. Again maybe too much reverb. Seems like some of the delay timing, or playing, is a...

    Catch My Recovery....

Very good. (I listened to 'Catch My Recovery') I absolutely hear Mr. Walsh in there--the vox, the tones, and the whole feel and arrangement. I dig Joe, and so, I dig this too. Vox are great. They have that 'cool, laid-back dude' sound. I listened on headphones also, but I think the snare...

Gimli's Lament with vox & some fixin'

Cool, Ray This sounds better. Reverb is now under control. I really love the slapback delay that kicks in on the vox toward the end. Trippy, man!!!!! Unless you plan on adding more instruments, I'd say you're just about done. Good job. Long live Gimli!!!!

New tune. What are your thoughts?

Sounds very good. I like the vocals a lot. The guitar tones are excellent. The bass is probably appropriate for this, but I would like to hear it with more 'attack'--a little less 'pillowy'. And it seems the drums are just a little too quiet in this mix. (At least that's how I hear it, on...

    GIMLI'S LAMENT w LYRICS - draft

Very cool. The overall feel of this piece is very 'other-worldly'; as it should be. I'm not a great critic of lyrics and can't say much about them other than that I always appreciate LOTR stuff. The lyrics seem sufficiently Tolkienish (which, of course, is a beautiful thing). The acoustic...

    Naples

Thanks Mr. rayc. I'll check that out as soon as I can--lunch today or, if not, then sometime tomorrow.

    Naples

Thanks, everyone, for taking the time to listen and comment. A healthy dose of 'no nits' and 'spot on' type comments this time. Wow. We MUST be getting better!!!! Sure was difficult though. It took me two weeks just to get the main guitar part done. When tracking the first instrument with...

    Collab - Acoustic Blues

OK. I'm listening to the other versions I didn't hear earlier. Avant-garde version: I loved it. It does have one major problem, however. It was much too short!!!!!!! Anfontan version: Way cool; dobro sounds so nice. Same problem though: too short!!!!!! Great fun. Thanks for sharing this.

    Collab - Acoustic Blues

I've only had time to hear the original version so far. Nice shuffle feel. Mr. Gummblefish has absolutely got the right sounding voice for this. It sounds like it's supposed to. And TL's got the blues in his soul!!! Sounds very good. The guits (both) sound very full and I was wondering if...

    "Desperation"

Thanks Kev. From you, there can't be too much information!!!! Supercreep and I really like your recordings. There's quite a lot for us to learn yet--I don't know how to get drums to sound as good as yours. You've got a very good ear. That's a good trick for bringing in those snare grace...

    "Desperation"

Such a great sounding recording!!! Very nice. Great vox. It's cool how during the resolve of the bridge, the vox start to sound a bit like Bowie. Interesting bass sound. It's very, very low, but has just a hint of mid-attack. (At least that's how it sounds in my headphones.) I can hear...

Please comment on my mastered mix

This is very good. I enjoyed it. (listened on headphones) I think eck is right: there is something going on with the kick drum--it is effecting the whole mix. Could there be too much limiting on the master? Probably converting to mp3 doesn't help much. Something about the mix sounds too...

    Live Track

Hey everyone!! I'm a little late to the party here, hope I didn't miss anything. Yeah, now that Seamus has been mentioned, I can hear it too. Sounds very cool Tim. I like what I can hear of your voice. The bass is huge and boomy, like it always is at a party!!!! It sure would be fun to...

    OK...I'm spamming.....

Wow. Just saw this thread. Rami, you're too kind. It's really, really great to know that a few people seem to really enjoy the record. In fact, it's musicians that seem to appreciate us the most. Thanks for the encouraging comments. We will always strive to do better (and there's all...

    The Real Story

Thanks to everyone for helping out with this. This recording is a case in point for why we need more than just our two sets of ears to get an idea of where we stand with the mix. It probably would have been a long time before we realized there was something lacking in the low end. We're...
