    New Progpiece

Awesome, Naka!!! My kind of stuff. Torture for me would be a 12:30 minute song that wasn't prog!!! Lot's of Tull sounding stuff in here, particularly that guitar/bass riff--sounds like that one part of Thick as a Brick, about 5-6 minutes in from the beginning, in 5/4 time. Yeah, a little...

    Please Judge my work

Not bad. I also think that the low end of the mix is too 'boomy'. It sounds like the kick drum is three times louder than the snare (and the rest of the kit). I guess there is a bass guitar somewhere in there, but it is so indistinct that I can't make much out of it. Guitars and Vox sound OK.

    Dr. Zaragemca

Of course. All things, in the end, must redound to pancakes!! So sayeth Dr. Pancake/Aunt Jemima/Master of flour and sugar.

    Hey Zaragemca

Not that any more testimony is needed, but-- GregL taught me the PROPER way to play a flamadiddle. I had been doing it wrong for years!!!! It's much more difficult than I had first thought. Thanks Greg!!!! You can't put a price on knowledge like that!!!!

    Help Yourself

Definitely an Ian Anderson vibe here. And that's fine by me! Interesting rhythms and accents throughout. And yeah, the drums are pretty weak sounding, and low in the mix. Maybe some percussion instead?? Nice job, thanks for sharing this here.

    Where's the production value?

I agree with what XLR (Tim) said. Nicely put.

    Where's the production value?

Yes. And a great record it is!!!

    ripple - in progress....advice needed

Cool. Not my favourite Dead song by a long stretch, but a decent tune. Acoustics sound very good and organic. The bass sounds kind of strange to me--I don't know exactly what it is that bothers me--something about the tone. Vox could use a little reverb, maybe. It mostly sounds done to me...

    Where's the production value?

One reason I like being in a two-man band!!!! I get to play more than one instrument most of the time, but I've got someone there for instant feedback. In general, I think I understand what the OP is saying. I just don't want to waste to much time producing stuff that isn't directly related...

    Where's the production value?

What??? There's nearly always a need to be sarcastic! Not only that, but Rami makes a good point, with or without sarcasm.

    Where's the production value?

Yeah, I don't really get this either. All I can think of is something like Pink Floyd. Occasional 'special effects', the sound of a TV in the background, bits of conversation with a low, droning synth note underneath, wind and sheep and crickets. Or songs that sort of flow from one into the...

    Yeah, what Greg L said.

    Pinball cover

Sorry, I love this song, but I don't have a lot of good things to say about this recording. The playing is very, very sloppy. The drums sound bad and out of time. The acoustic sounds bad--like an acoustic/electric plugged in direct; not mic'd. But, practice makes perfect. Keep at it. And...

Mr. Moto - surf rock instrumental

Love it, love it love it. I'm not familiar with the original, but this is excellent. Perfect surf guitar, sound and performance. Bass sounds great too. Great job.

Check out this mix for me guys

Cool. I like the big guitar sounds a lot. The drums sound like they are far away, as if they were recorded with just a couple of mics on the other side of the room. There seems to be some timing issues between the clean(ish) guitar and the drums. Also, the whole thing has that "written...

    Lady Policeman

Thank you. I think I was actually trying to channel John Paul Jones when coming up with the bass part this time, but Chris Squire is a definite hero of mine. But to answer your question, there is only one bass part throughout the song, so I'm not sure what you're hearing. There was no...

    Remix of an old song

Great song and great recording. Nice vocals on this. I'm listening on cans, and so I don't hear too much deepness in the kick. Possibly it could use just a hair more attack???? Not sure. I'm not sure what it is about the bass that doesn't grab me. It could be a little too quiet in the mix...
