He said he'd kill me if I posted this! Please listen!

Sexydevil. Checked out your website w/ all the songs. Not bad my friend. I'm not much into hiphop/rap, but some of the beats/melodies/bass are interesting. I actually like some of the garage beats coming out of the UK...the streets, dizee rascal, stuff like that.

    identify organ / organ sound

It's a hammond b3. I don't know what soundfonts are out there, but Native Instruments has a good organ soft synth called B4.

Who is the most underrated guitarist?

A couple of other guys who do not get their due respect. David Grissom- played on albums by Joe Ely, Storyville, and John Mellencamp Ty Tabor- King's X David Wilcox- Known for his alternate tunings.

Why the Gibson SG is the best guitar ever....

I vouch for the Fender American Std. Tele. It's quite the workhorse. Well...that and the strat for it's tone. Also like the Rick 360's for hollowbody sound.

how to get a full acoustic guitar sound?

Nice sound on the demo, Sonixx. I have a 714 and can't seem to get a good sound using the stereo mic setup. I'm using an SDC 12" from body/neck joint and LD same distance aimed between soundhole and bridge. It sounds like I might be having some phasing issues. Another method I like is to...

Who is the most underrated guitarist?

Dominic Miller- for work on Sting albums since the early 90's Ed O'Brien- the other Radiohead guitarist. His playing really shines on Neil Finn's '7 Worlds Collide' live album. John Mayer- he's not just another teen idol.

    MIDI Sucks!

Uhh..is that not what samplers are for? Correct me if I'm wrong, but I record "real" drum/percussion samples while triggered via midi through a controller/keyboard.

I know we all use sonar but

Unless they've changed it recently, the free version does not run on xp or 2000. So unless you're using me/98, forget it. I had the 001 system and it's pretty good for audio. However midi setup was a pain. I ended up selling it to buy a better mic pre for use with sonar.

    how's the M-Audio Firewire 410 with new drivers ?

I had the same problem with the volume control, but the new driver update seems to have fixed the problem. Other than that I have been very satisfied with it.

    By Your Grace

Great tune. Only suggestions I could make is some de-essing on lead vox. T's and S's are standing out. Also shaker comes in off-time and drums are a little too busy. Just my thoughts.

Would someone give this song a listen?

Nice vocals and drums! Again, what are you using for the drums? It's far from crappy. Arrangement is well constructed and the players let the instruments breathe. Overall, well crafted song and recording. Would love to hear more.

    a long december

Listened to all the tunes. Definitely a progression in quality of vocals from cover tune to original material. However, guitars and keys are muddy. You could use a little more clarity in them via high shelve eq or just retracking with more highs.

    New demos (Alt. Country/Rock)

I'm thinking Steve Earle-esque, especially the first tune...but then again I'm from Texas. Everybody seems to be doing the Americana thing around here. Your voice suits the music and fits very well. If you want a different place to park your mp3s, try nowhereradio.com.

    Reason To Homestudio Question

In reason i would export to wav files, then import those wav files onto an audio track in homestudio. Also if you have homestudio 2, you can use reason via rewire. Certainly cuts back on the whole import/export thing.

    m-audio firewire 1814

I have the FW410 and it works well for my uses. However, on occasions my pc can't find the drivers and I have to reinstall them periodically. Not sure if its the drivers or my computer. Also, i've heard good things about the emu 1212m and 1820m. They're supposed to have really good a/d...

Slicing Drum Loops onto Separate Tracks

I currently use acoustic drum loops for rock/alt type tunes on one track in sonar, but want to be able to separate each drum onto its own track for better mix control. What's the easiest way to do this besides manually slicing each transient? I have Recycle which is great for doing this, but...

    Sonar 3 Help

Go to file->export, then export as wav file. Then use your third party software (nero, pyro, etc) to burn a disc. Just make sure to dither to a 16 bit wav file during export.
