Sony TC-366 Reel to Reel tape deck problem

That value is common for a"motor-start-capacitor". Leaking its bodily fluids out is a pretty good indicator it is indeed dead. Make sure the machine is unplugged when you go to replace it.

I may have shared this before. But I found my NOS Tascam ATR-80-24 at a studio in Hollywood. Still fastened to the pallet it shipped on, still with the packing under the deck surface to hold things from damage in shipment. I gladly dropped 2K dollars on that. But with it came a box of "spare...

Indeed. Just about everything in my studio has come from those sources. A couple years ago I totaled up the old MSRP or original selling prices and I was shocked what it came to.

There are a few versions of them. basically a sweep meter, emulating a very large VU meter, but done with LEDS. The sweep actually has two scales beside each other. The larger one to the left is average levels, to the right where the red zone would be is a section that shows instantaneous peak...

I too have a pair of those Durrough 440As in a small walnut trimmed rack that I built and sits dead center on the monitor shelf above the console, its a real attention grabber. That rack shares a phono pre-amp for when the control room is used for a vinyl listening session along with one of the...

What do the specs of that interface say about operating Macs? There may be specific drivers for that application. I use a MacBook Pro but different interfaces than you.

    Analogue/Digital Conversion

More information from you will help get you answers. But reading between the lines it seems you are asking: Is there a way to get 1/4" TRS into my computer? We need to know if you are talking a stereo signal or not. Regardless, you are probably going to want to investigate "audio interfaces"...

    Tips for a beginner..?

What do you want to know about e-drum kits? I have a Roland TDK-20. Bunch of different drums samples that can be assigned to each pad (drum). But when I used it I preferred the custom kit where you set each parameter for each sound sample. All I use it for now is quiet practice, dont even turn...

Can WiFI interfer with my audio-recordings?

I get trouble from cell phones and blackberry type devices. Radiating those clicks, chips and bursts into not only the recording gear but the guitar and PA amps. All handhelds are to be turned off on recording days. The other culprit has been light dimmers.
