    Audix Cab Grabber

I hadn't thought of that...Guess it would depend on amount of volume, but I'd guess that on any halfstacks if you played something with a low frequency at even a low volume you would get some undesired effects... I like the mbstand better.

Listen to the new sound inside of me!

I've yet to hear a hip hop song from him on this site, though I admit I am fairly new, and all that article talks about is him writing hip hop.

That's pretty cool, but $50 is a hefty price for convenience.

My Experience Is That Tone Controls on Guitars Do Very Little

Theres a big difference in my les paul copy in the neck pickup. I typically roll it back to about 3 or4 when playing jazz. I don't notice as big a difference with the bridge pup tho.

Do you know the note names on the fretboard?

Yeah he does, gotta say I'm not a fan of his way compressed tone, but dood can play. Thx Castle.

Do you know the note names on the fretboard?

aight, no harm done. I prolly went off on a tangent myself. FWIW alot of what I play is the blues too. And BB shred? It kinda depends on what you mean, If you mean play some badass guitar, then yess he shreds. I understand where you are coming from, just not why you yell at me for being close...

Best pedal for a solid state half stack

Honestly I've never played through a JCM900, they just seem to be pretty popular to alot of people, i guess that was a bad Marshall generalization, lawl. And, if your after serious tone, I agree to not go Crate SS, but I kinda liked the blue voodoo i played for. I guess, the core of my argument...

Do you know the note names on the fretboard?

Castle, do you have a link to any of Superhumans recordings? I scanned the first ten or so pages of the thread and couldn't find him. Would be interested in hearing him. Thanks James

Best pedal for a solid state half stack

I have to disagree, I do not claim to have played all of their amps, except the solid state I have owned and a short session with a blue voodoo, so maybe they don't stand up to a JCM9000 or some Mesa heads, but I think for the money these are great reliable amps and even know Im selling my crate...

Do you know the note names on the fretboard?

exactly, lets call it the bedroom phenomenon. This dude got way too into drugs and I'm not sure what happened to him now, but I'm convinced that dudes who can shred like that can prolly pick up on the note names and theory pretty quick and just be incredible all around players. Personally...

Where have I been? What's with all the small low wattage heads these days...

I'm with you. Peavey Classic seems to be the only thing I can find decently close to that (and it's still 30 watts) it has about all of the features except for independent eqs, and I'm sacrificing some really high gain distortion but hoping to overcome it with pedals (it takes pedals pretty good).

Do you know the note names on the fretboard?

Very true, I just think he is denying himself an opportunity to improve. I have seen countless amazing bedroom guitarists who can shred like no other but don't even know the musical alphabet. He's great on his own but once he was in a band setting with other people and trying to play in a live...

Best pedal for a solid state half stack

Yes, enlighten me. My SS 120W was very good to me, granted not a tube, but still a great head, very reliable and roadworthy--solid construction. Seperate EQ's for each of 3 channels--well kinda, I don't know of a better deal for that price on a stack. It has some kinda preamp tube simulator as...

    Purchasing a used tube amp

Yeah, I've played through them before and was very pleased with everything about the amp, except that the two channels share the same eq, but such is the sacrifice for a smaller amp. I love playing blues on the dirty channel, the clean is great for jazz, and I figure I can run a pedal for...

    Purchasing a used tube amp

Wow, thanks guys, lots of great advice here. I'm sure I'll be able to make a wise purchase now. Someone mentioned arching, what will this look like? James O and the amp I'm searching for is a Peavey Classic 30

Do you know the note names on the fretboard?

I actually didn't learn that way either. I learned the same as you, but once I opened myself up to learning a bit more my playing really took off. This combined with music theory helped pull me out of the pentatonic rut and into more chord based vamps and soloing. I thought I would hate theory...

Best pedal for a solid state half stack

Dude if your talking about the Crate all tube head, should have plenty of what you need without pedals. See how it sounds and buy a ts9 if you still think you'll need it afterwards, but I doubt you will. James

Best pedal for a solid state half stack

I've never played through them, but I'm pretty sure that Fender uses them in some of their amps, I think the Twin. I'm recommending against Behringer because of the poor quality I've seen on some of their mixers and things I've heard of other products they make. I know that the speakers that...

    Servicing an SS amp

I'm trying to sell an old Peavey of mine, unfortunately I believe the gain knob is shot. It seems to turn much easier than the other knobs and does not make a difference in sound. What could this mean, and is it a hard fix? It's a Peavey Bandit 65. I don't know much about modding anything so...
