    Fender Precision Bass

I generally prefer J-bass tonally, but a PJ bass does the trick too. Heck, come to think of it, any bass does the trick :)

    Black Bird -major overhaul-

I never really liked this song, but this is a cool remake! I'm thinking the top end percussion could come down, and the cello solo could come up a touch.

Thinking of Building a "Room in a room" for Drums in My Apartment

Tweed Deluxe I Built Sound Test

Groovy! Tone sounds good to me (I'm no guitar expert though).

Lawson matched set with Tube and Fet mics. Tube Fet combo.

Beautiful mics... but way outside my price range :(

Fleetwood Mac - "Dreams" - WTF is this, magic?!

Yup -- definitely not an attempt at bettering the original. Just like, what if some jazz cats showed up at the Record Plant when they tracked Rumours? And not even. I love jazz, and I love Stevie, and... yup, how 'bout I leave it at that ;) That is the last project I'm using Steinberg Groove...

Fleetwood Mac - "Dreams" - WTF is this, magic?!

Good question! Certainly not to sound like the original. TBH I think I'm content with just myself giving myself a pass. BTW after I finished this mix I went back and listened to the first mix I put up here. My, I didn't remember the vox being that bad! Fair enough. No-one will ever sing Stevie...

Not enough snare, kick not punchy, too much cymbals? What compression, if any, is on the overheads?

I'd send in some if I was on Spotify, which I am not. Best of luck, great idea to help support our HR community!

Fleetwood Mac - "Dreams" - WTF is this, magic?!

@Nola Glad you like it! I didn't at any point seriously consider transposing, it would have helped the vocal but I'm just not a fan of doing that. However I did try tracking the vocal 1 octave down (it fits exactly within my true register that way) but it didn't fit the arrangement well -- the...

Fleetwood Mac - "Dreams" - WTF is this, magic?!

Thanks, glad to hear! Oh, and last time I checked I was a man... I think? :thumbs up:

Fleetwood Mac - "Dreams" - WTF is this, magic?!

OK, if you have a sec give this a whirl. Pitch and voice crack issues are as few as I could make them. This is probably the best I can do vocally for this song, barring a half-hour warmup and perhaps some gluhwein to warm up those vocal cords. Yes it's out of my range, but I've honestly done...

Acoustically treating my home studio? (Pictures)

One of the rooms I track in has 4 violins on the wall. They do ring, but as in your case it would be easy to dampen the strings with a rubber band or something. You seem to be in a fairly tight residential neighborhood so I'd be more concerned about isolation from outside noise sources.

It may be best to party with people you know... for a new member, Prime Time is perhaps not the best place to introduce oneself! I cut my teeth out there when I first joined. That was intense.
