Besides just taming peaks and raising levels , compression will glue tracks together better. An example would be 3 or 4 acoustic guitars each with compressors taming just their high peaks (without any gain increase). They will sound better , but still a little jumbled up and scattered. Send them...
Very Nice ! Great vocals and harmonies. I agree the reverb could be backed off on the early verses. It didn't sound excessive to me once you got to the first chorus. The kick didn't bother me but , maybe a db of reduction would make it sound even better.
Enjoyed the song .. mark
@HumanPlanet Yeah , I agree about the troublesome drum roll. I will remove it for sure. Thanks for that ! I'll probably get it re-posted tomorrow. I Thank and appreciate All of You for listening and commenting on this one.. mark
I'm calling this one done after uploading this final mix. I Really appreciate everyone's help! If I make any further changes I'll just edit the OP and wont bump it back up. moving on .. mark
@Serendipity Records , Thanks for the drums suggestion. I'll probably play with them a little more later. @dachay2tnr , I'm not hearing excessive reverb on the Vox tracks even with them soloed. I think a lot of the verb was coming from the close to centered tremolo guitar track. Great call on...
The link now reflects Remix 1. I tamed the drums a little using 1/8 instead of 1/16 patterns (except for the outro) and lowered them a bit. Added a shaker (needs further work) and reduced the reverb on the electric guitar and Vox tracks. Thanks for the suggestions so far .. Still a work in...
@JAPOV , Thanks for the listen and the suggestions. I have pretty minimal reverb settings on the Vox tracks. I think the frequency's where they live got boosted in the mastering phase. I also felt a few phrases needed shorter tails. Easy fix as well as the main Vox EQ. Done . I'll have to...
Hello , here's a singer songwriter type of country ballad I co wrote with my former bass player. This the final mix on this very simple song. Thank you all for helping me get this to completion ! I'm calling it done .. mark

Yowie , It took me about 5 seconds to realize I was going to "Love" this one. I really liked the stereo delay on the sax you put in when the song got going . I think a "little" bit of it would be nice earlier on. I may have tried some different panning on the first minute or 2 on the...
Welcome yowie. Yeah .. feedback and more ears on a project is a "must" for me. Some of it you get will be what you need , and some will have you chasing your tail with no good results. If what you get is an honest opinion , and thats what they really feel , it should be explored.
If you are...
Keith , Thanks for the reply back. I've got a fairly large amount of IR reverbs to choose from in Cakewalk , but have only actually used one of them. I'd never heard of the mic's you used , so I researched them. They are "for sure" too far out of my reach. I'll have to stick with my AT's and...
Hey , I'm listening on very "slightly" bass hyped headphones and everything sounds Great to me. I enjoy "any" genre of music that's done well , and I think you hit the spot on this one (for me). On the suggestion side .. I have a pet peave about a song starting as soon as I press the play...
Keith , Excellent performance ! I was Super impressed by the tone and clairity of both of the instruments. I loved your choice of reverb. Just the right amount of decay and brought out the rich overtones. What did you use on this one if you don't mind sharing ? Enjoyed it .. mark
