Do these do the same thing?

I don't have any treatment at all in my room which is 9ft x 9ft x 9ft. (The worst possible room scenario) I have an acoustic screen that I use for my vocal mic. Cheap but effective in some cases.(See image below) For Acoustic mic'ing, I mic as close as possible to the source and position to get...

What are you all using for studio desks?

I built my own with the help of my Uncle. Looking through Studio desks and every-other type of desk that could be used got tiresome and old really quick. For the type of desk I wanted, the price was anywhere between £500 and £2000. It cost £89 and a days work to build one that better suited my...

M-Audio 2496 sound card problems setting up

You really should get a better DAW than Audacity. It's not the best by any means or really suited to purpose. Try Reaper, free to try, cheap as chips to buy. Anyway, double click the M-Audio icon down by the clock and go to the Patchbay/Router tab and turn Monitor mixer on.

    Stronger Than Pride

Just listening now. Comparing the original to the same file (The Choirboys - Pie Jesu) I compared your 9dB boosted to earlier and the original is around the same average volume to my ear, if not louder. But, there is a lot more going on musically in the Sade song. Just out of interest...

    Crafter Guitars ?

I had a Crafter acoustic a few years back, not the best or nicest guitar in the world but definitely not the worst. £300, middle of the road kind of guitar. I gigged with it for a few years and it never failed me. My Dad now has the guitar, strung left handed for himself, minus the electrics...

    Studio desk layout...?

I suppose the first thing you have to consider when building a desk is the space it is going to take up in the room and what the desk is required to house, equipment wise. My only advice is plan everything ahead. I moved house last year and built a desk for myself but only have a a 9' x 9' room...

    Re-amping? Is it this simple?

Would you not do this for the track in the In/Out Routing for the track? Set the output to the one you want on the US1800 and untick Master/Parent Send. Then you should just have the received audio from the amp coming back on the other track. I think?

Adding sine waves to a kick drum

I did it the cheat, quick and easy way but that's a good point, in which case you would send the the output of the Kick to Aux 3/4 and set the receive on the gate to Aux Input L+R I'll add that to my post above. :thumbs up:

Adding sine waves to a kick drum

Certainly can. 1. Create a new track. (Name it, i.e, Sub Bass) 2. Add Synthesis/tonegenerator to the track. (You'll find it in the JS: Synthesis/tonegenerator just search for 'tone') 3. Change the \base frequency(Hz) to whatever you want it to be. Around 50-60 is good. You can type it in...

    Trax.Io-Your Mixes Everywhere!

I'm not being negative at all. Dude, it doesn't even log in to try it. I can do no more than try to log in/create an account. I WILL NOT use my facebook account for anything like this, nothing personal, I just don't do that. If I can't register, I can't give feedback. I can however give...

    Snapshots

Here's another old song of mine, written in 2005 and been played at every live show I've ever performed at. (I got and still get moaned at if I don't plan on playing it.) It's a short little tune, one guitar, one voice, simple as possible. It's basically a load of memories of mine all thrown in...

2nd Mix sounds much, much better to me. Double vocals sound really good and the extra vocals in the chorus really bring it out. Top stuff. Good to see you growing in confidence with your performance and recording. :thumbs up: Just for you, this is what we ate today. (Admittedly, I forgot about...

There's A Ghost (In My House)

It's been a bit quiet in the clin'c these last few days..... This is my latest re-working/recording of another old song from around 2005/6. There wasn't really a ghost in my house, just some old creaky floorboards. This whole song came from an idea after listening to R.Dean.Taylors -There's A...

    What's your process?

The last time you recorded anything at home, what was your process? (Can you break it down into specific steps?) I always start with a metronome/beat. Anything simple to keep time and play along to. Usually Acoustic guitar or bass goes down first, then build from there depending on the song and...

    Fairytale For The Wicked!

Firstly, you might not want your kids around if you listen to this. It's really a Fairytale for adult ears only. This is another older tune I wrote, many many moons ago, that I'm revisiting. (I'm working my way through all my old, crappy, demos and giving them new life, for myself.) It's a...

    You Had It All

Here's my latest recording. Another old song, which was originally written as a faster, almost punk, song but when I used to play it solo or with my old band it became a slow.....whatever it is. I'm going to do it again after this in the original style. This song has been recorded a number of...
