I just recorded 2 tracks of me playing drums. It seems to have recorded them fine, but when I go to play them back, it begins playing the tracks, and then the VST Performance Meter starts going up quickly, then it redlines and stops playing.
There appears to be two meters, the first one always...
I'm looking for a mixer to use live and in my home studio. Would you go with a Soundcraft M12 or Mackie CFX-16? Or something else($750 budget)? Why? Thanks for any opinions!
I'm looking for an effects box (mainly reverb) where I can run my drums, vocals, guitar, sax, etc. into at the same time - for playing live and recording.
Does anyone have any recommendations for a nice effects box, or just a reverb box. I'll probably need to be able to control 3 or 4 channels...
I bought my Pearl EX Kit about a year ago and I'm going to be replacing the heads. I need heads that I can use for rock, jazz, funk, you name it. I was thinkinf of going with coated heads on all toms and snare.
I have heard good things about Evans.
What would you go with?
Thanks!
I use my bedroom for recording. I need some way to isolate the drums. I've looked at those drum sheilds, but would they work well enough? Any opinions/suggestions? Thanks!
I'll be needing some monitors for "home studio" soon.
Should I get powered or unpowered monitors. If I get unpowered monitors, I have to purchase an amp right? Which type of amp should I get? Thanks!
The budget it probably around $300
I've got a laptop (40gig, CD Burner, 512 RAM, 1.4GHz), and I need to do portable recording, but something that will still work well in my home studio. Does any have any expierence or opinions for the MBox? Thanks!
Okay, my microphone questions are spread over a few threads so I'll just compress it all here.
I plan to be recording funk, jazz, rock, you name it. Tell me if this looks good.
Drum Microphones: ($400 Budget)
Snare: Shure SM57 - $90
Kick: Sennheiser E602 - $180
Overheads: Any suggestions...
I've been using an old radioshack 8 channel mixer and it's time to upgrade.
I plan to be traveling and recording bands locally.
I've been looking at the Mackie CFX-16 which looks pretty cool. My budget is about $750.
Thanks for any help!
I just attempted recording with my laptop via its' built in Microphone IN and I ended up with something that sounded like a 56k download.
I'm guessing my other option is USB? I need to use my laptop as I'll be traveling around recording - so I need something portable.
What would guys suggest...
I'm new to recording but I've manage to turn my bedroom into a make-shift recording studio. Below are some pictures:
