What did you produce in the Lockdown years?

I wrote, recorded and published five new songs a month for over a year (I had a lot of time on my hands, and it was good to be away from my day job), and then I decided to slow down and do about a song a month for a while. Unlike yourself, I abandoned production standards in favor of sheer...

Inspired by John The Evangelist for Easter

Most people want the duck soup rather than 'the soup of the soup of the soup of the duck'. Not just tastier, not just more nutritious, but more real!

    May Angels Guide

The 'female' vocal part would stand out more with a muting of the background parts, completely in the first instance, stepwise and graded in the second.

Bad Blood -Mix 2 with vox- (remastered)

If the tambourine was quieter, it might be even more effective for being subtle. Really like this one. Also, I like s tune automatically segues into 'Lazy River'. 😎 Like it more each time it hits the eardrums.

New Latin style electronic track | Dance with me

Yeah, it's respectable. Every 16 bars, it changes up something. Regular, all the way to the end, a good mix of sounds and patterns, changing every 16 bars. Listenable. If you want to take it up a notch, you have to find a way to change up more than that, and express yourself in it.

    Gargling sweet whispers

You're not afraid of your own stream of consciousness. I have a friend who, when we drink too much, sometimes goes all stream of consciousness on me. When he'd do it decades ago, when I first met him, I was in awe of it - it seemed like a superpower. Now, it's more like a party piece - it's like...

New song: Get It Out. (Accidental ska song!)

They don't sound like real horns to me, but they sound good for the song. Yup. Yes. It doesn't change much from the start to the end, so I'd mess with the volume during different sections, bringing it up and down a bit, like a wave. Chorus up a dB, the rest down a dB. Just a nudge. Warren...

Lazy River -New master by Gary Brun-

Tune 2 on Wednesday night's hit chart HR. You'll have me putting on the Steely Dan next. Or the Allmans. Or JJ Cale. Piano up a dB, I'm begging you understand.

    Save Me

Finally got to the big speakers tonight. So I decided to listen some good stuff. The bvs can come up 1 dB on their first sung line (but not the second). Levels are perfect for me - everything gets heard and sets the state for the strong guitar segments. Piano can come up a dB if you like. But...

I just want the vocal to be louder. (I'm not easily pleased - I just know how to answer questions.)

The vocal isn't whiny, the balance is good, and I like the cover.

Lazy River -New master by Gary Brun-

Really like it. People are on about the drums. Maybe it's the level that attracts attention to the sound? I'm fine with the sound, but I would like the sound as much I reckon if you backed off on the level a bit. Just a thought experiement.
