I loaded both versions into Reaper and configured them for quick, single keystroke A/B-ing. They sound virtually identical to me. Flipping back and forth revealed no obvious differences. I'm in agreement with @Bulls Hit. I tweaked it some - here's a remix.

My first hunch involves the Save operation - when you Save. . IF you Save - somewhere in there, you're tweeking and not saving. . . or tweeking AND saving. Somewhere in these operations lies our confusion.

I know the vibes I get at my headphones aren't electrical in nature, merely physical vibrations. What I'm "hearing" is not coming from the HP speakers, it's vibrations from the Strat's body, through the cord, through the cups into my skull. Maybe something like Bone Phones.

Your attached screenshots widen out when clicked on, showing the full image. Though they're still not the full Reaper screen from top to bottom - side to side as seen on your monitor. Is freeze working for you now?

Doesn't sound muddy to me (Sennheiser HD 280 Pro phones). I think the ride cymbal is too deep and not steady volume-wise. When it gets loud it sounds like a mistake. IMO, the organ should come up an octave in the chorus - just my first impression. Might not work.

This seems to be a case where Reaper's multiple ways of performing an action might be the cause. How are you accessing the Freeze menu? Are you right-clicking the Track Control @ screen left? Or are you first opening the track's FX window, then right-clicking within that window? Freeze works...
