i found a neat program on webattack.com its called audacity. its a little slow, but its a freeware recording studio of sorts. Has anyone ever heard of it? used it?

what are the pros and cons of using a tascam over recording through the computer? Am i right that the tascam uses tapes on some of the models?

What is the sound difference between the Mic input, and the Line in input on the computer / for instance in recording. Is the MIC supposedly louder or get more "hum"?
