Does the M-Audio 410 work with Windows XP? I thought I saw somewhere that it does but all the online stores say it is only 95-2000 compatible?

I have an Audigy 2 Platinum card so I can record at 24 bit. But when I mix it down to burn on cd the file type is not supported. But if I mix it down to 16 bit, it will burn just fine. Am I doing something wrong? What is the point of 24 bit?
