...powered up the HD24, then powered up the BRC.....
BRC initializes then shows "nofo"!
Try to select a song on the HD24 and it's froze-up tight.... no buttons work.....
I shut down the BRC and cold boot the HD24 (the front-panel power button was frozen too......)
It boots back no problem...
The way I typically use Cubase (SX) is as an audio editor with tracks being dumped to/from MDM machines....
Essentially, with this usage, tempo in Cubase is an irrelevant concept... but according to the manuals there is some difference in resolution when using linear vs. tempo-based audio...
I have a track that has 2 digital glitches on it -- they sound like 2 distinct clicks - always in the same spot... BUT............. there is no evidence of a transient spike in the waveform... no sign of a bad slice in the waveform... nothing that indicates there should be a glitch there!

My brother's Jazz trio cut a demo at a local studio (one that was equipped with a Grand Piano for the keyboard player), and was sorely disappointed with the resultant mix -- the keyboard player is the one who produced the demo and was there on the mixdown (he's a rookie)......
Anyways, he...
This has all the makings of another subjective "shoot-out" but there ya go.........
Obligatory Notes and Disclaimers
I took this tune and mixed it using Event PS6s with Tannoy Proto-Js as secondaries... this was back in November.
When I recently upgraded my control room monitors to KRK V8s, I...

I was curious as to the C1, 4033, and NT2 as far as vocal use, so here it is...
The Context
--------------------------------------------
1 - Yes, that's me singing (and no, I don't plan on making a career as a vocalist!)
2 - Yes, all three mics captured the fact that I have a head...
Allright... mic shootout using acoustic guitar clips... 11 clips for your listening pleasure, all zipped in a single file... I'll post the link later this morning (when it's active!)
Different than the last shootout - here are some points to keep in mind:

Being that I'm usually a firm believer in "you get what you pay for", I guess I was expecting something along the lines of the MPX2001 (which, for those that don't know - would NOT be a good...

Well... if you recall I discovered the M-Audio Digipatch 12*6 doesn't support 20-bit Lightpipe signals... so I returned it to the store and re-did all my backups (that had passed thru the unit, truncating the signal to 16-bit)
Trouble is - I still need the routing flexibility for Lightpipe...
Midiman - Digipatch 12x6..........
Lightpipe and S/PDIF digital routing... works great -- UNTIL you find out that it only supports 16-bit, Type I ADAT Lightpipe I/O!!!!!!!!! That means I've got to redo all my recent backups (the backup ADAT was routing thru the PB) to avoid the butchering it...
Pro Question: Sjoko, Shailat, Skippy, Track Rat, any others... - re: guitar depth
...Just listened to Steely Dan's Two Against nature yet again.... the recording of the guitars, especially on the song intros is particluarly smooth and well-recorded.... they sound dry, yet still have definition...
