I was thinking about converting to mp3 instead of oog, and burning the music on dvd's to mail to the copyright office as a collection.

I am going to try different cd burners.

I will try copying the disc with a few disc reader/burners. If the result is the same, I assume the disc had died (possible defect in dye layer), and I am out of luck.

Can you give more detail about cleaning?

I copied a large number of cdr discs, and found a few that won't copy. A disc will get to say 60 percent finished, and then say error. Can anything be done?

Thanks. I may order that one. Does that one, and the others included software allow me to do everything I could do with windows media player. What I have been doing is copying my cd to computer, edit, then burn the edited version with windows media player.

Do most of the cheap one's work fine? I will mostly use it to burn cd's.

I believe my cd/dvd drive has become defective. When I press the button it does not open, but when I go to my computer, and press eject, it does open. I would like a fast, and convenient solution. Would one of those extrenal cd burner/players you see for less than $30 do the job instead?
