    Tascam 244 Story…

Thanks for the shoutout, Cory. Considering the 244's popularity on this site, I'm sure this thread is going to be of enormous help to many people for a long time. I've never gone down the 244 tunnel myself (had the 246 for a while), but knowing this thread is here will certainly make me feel...

In-ear monitor vs headphones vs stage monitor

I have tried IEMs about 4 or 5 times, the first time being about 15 years ago, and the last being about 4 months ago. I have had nothing but absolutely terrible experiences with them every time. Granted, I don’t own any, so every time I’ve used them, I’ve just had to make do with whatever was...

    Audio Technica AT-RMX64 Story…

I can't wait to see this one up and running. I was really upset when I had to let mine go; I very much wanted to make it the centerpiece of my cassette recording projects. It's such a unique beast, and I really loved the sound of the onboard preamps!

How Many People Are Using Cassettes Here?

Curious what her earnings are on those 284 million streams compared to vinyl sales.

How Many People Are Using Cassettes Here?

Thanks for sharing the tune - some cool sounds. I have to say, though, how/why is there so much hiss? I've used 4-tracks for years, and I don't think I could get this much hiss if I tried. Were y'all not using noise reduction and also printing very low levels or something? I don't get it.

How Many People Are Using Cassettes Here?

Wait, huh? You literally just said that cassette and vinyl increased in the past couple of years (cassettes by nearly 100% last year). How can that be a continual drop for the past 10 years?

How Many People Are Using Cassettes Here?

I still love recording to cassette 4-track. I don't get caught up in all the sound comparisons and arguments. It's mainly a personal choice for me that boils down to two major factors: 1. Nostalgia - I started on a 4-track cassette recorder, and that's what instilled in me the love of recording...

    MP3 forum Best of.

Seems like a very odd thing for people to complain about, IMO.

    The Weight

Overall, it's a very enjoyable listen. I had to listen to the first mix, because I couldn't find the updated one. The thing that sticks out the most to me is the piano. It's really rushing badly in many spots, and it prevents the song from really grooving the way it should. It's jolting it out...

How many electric guitars does one really need to (fairly authentically) "cover the bases" - soundwise only?

I've tried that defense before, but she came back with "and how much does a pair of shoes cost compared to a guitar?" ??

Thanks for the clarification. I'm always curious to hear about other people's motivation, especially when it's on something for which I have differing views. For some reason, I've never really connected with PRS. I don't have a lot of experience with them, but I have some. I reviewed a Mira for...

So can you pinpoint what it is that makes you a PRS superfan?

Guitar Center has had really good used deals for the past several years now, in my experience. I often see prices there (or, more specifically, searching their used inventory online) that are considerably lower than Reverb or Ebay.

Nice! If the pick guard is stock, then I'd say it's a Sheraton, as that looks like a Sheraton pick guard. The Dot guards are simpler. So, how many of those 20 different sounds options do you actually use? ? Edit: Also, as far as I know, Gibson still owns Epiphone and always has since they...
