I didn't really give it much time. Just improvised the solo and bass. But hope it inspires him to more ideas.
I always record two tracks of the main riff and pan em hard left and right. Has anyone ever accomplished recording a third in the middle and mixing well?
Ok I am using an sm57 mic and a vtb tube preamp. When I record distortion I have the tube blend all the way up. Its great! When I record clean sounds its horrible!! Its too much bass or low end Too much hum! Where am I going wrong! Too much output?, too much gain? Too much tube? It also happened...
Well I used an sm57 for acoustic. Is this correct or would condenser mics be better? I had to record about a foot from the guitar cus it was picking up too much low end and making a bad hum. Why is that? Is it too much tube blend on my preamp? Too much gain? too much output? I dunno but I...
My friend likes rap and stuff... well the story is in soundclick but this song is a work in progress. Hows the mixing? Im a little scared that it has too much bass. How are the guitars?
The song is called "Rock Hop"

Man it's so difficult to get it. I always get this bluesy sounding lead tone. Not that killer sound of lightning speed shreds! What is the answer to my dillema.
I didn't actually play but I mixed and all the gear was mine. My friend was teaching me a few things. WOW I was surprised how good it turned out. Im not going to have it up too long cus I dont want Dave Mustaine suing me. :p

Im thinking that I might need some sort of stomp box for leads and the tube screamer came in mind but will make a hybrid sound the same?

thats the amp and in there you can click on the review.
This is a unique design ive never seen before.
Do you think it can compete with a traditional tube amp?
This question came up when my friend was telling me that he set up his gear different Live than recording. When he record he makes everything flat and then eqs it on the mix. Then I was like wow. I try to eq everything exactly as I want it to sound and by that I mean...record, see if it sounds...
I have some nice tones from hours of experimenting but I still can't figure out how to add punch. They sound thick but not like they're in your face. A really good example of this is in Nickelback's newest album. It sounds really punchy. I tried using a compressor but Im not sure how to use it...
I had posted a thread on why my mic wasn't as sensitive and I took the advice of buying another preamp that would go into my Lexicon. I got the vtb and its awesome! Very warm and clear, I was just wondering how I could add some punch to my distortion.
I don't need to spend more than 20 bucks for a cable. My room isnt big so 10 feet should be enough. I need a cable that goes from a preamp to an interface and I was wondering if this a good deal right here

Isnt the rack the breasts of a women. Or where you hang coats? Or when your skating and try to grind a rail and "rack" yourself? Thats what I think
http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/Lexicon-Lambda-USB-Audio-Interface?sku=245506 I connected the sm57 to this^^^ but its not very sensitive. So should I buy a small mixer or a mic tube pre amp to make it more sensitive??
