I'm finally doing some recording.
I've read in my VS840 manual that the volume should be set to just below the peak.
Am I to understand that as I lay my drum, bass, rythme, lead, vocals, harp that my first basic tracks should be as loud as the recorder can go without the 'peak' light coming...

I'm now the owner of a Wulitzer Organ.
It's big.
Has a bench to sit on, three keyboards, buttons, tabs, slider, leavers foot pedals for bass, accelerator pedal kind of volume everything but a coffee pot.
It sounds nice, has a speaker and everything.
I'm not a keyboardist, but I want to...
I went to the post office a while ago.
I live in a small logging town. I pulled into the parking lot and parked next to a small Honda.
I could hear the beat of Rap or Hip-Hop in my truck. One guy about 16 to 20 years old was in the passenger seat singing and tapping following the beat on...
I was over at the futureproducers site a while ago snooping around.
Found a page where they had Hip-Hop machines like the scratch, some vocals of various kinds that you can play with and experiment.
I found to my suprise, I spent over an hour and a half messing around with that stuff. I...
Somethings been in my craw for some time now.
It just welled up again when I read the lyrics to one of Chris Shaffers songs.
One thing I always do when reading the lyrics, is try to add music and melody to them before I listen to the song. Rarely are mine and the authors songs close, but...
My recording software is Sonar XL.
I've been looking at other recording software for a while, comparing, you know.
I ran across a program, I think it's from Steinberg, called 'Samplitude'.
Now I'll admit, some of the stuff in the descriptions is a bit, well, way over my head.
Has...
Here is a simple verse/bridge song I wrote about fifteen years ago.
I'd forgotten all about it till I found it last night.
Gonna post it here for some feed back on the lyrics, structure, getting the point across or anything else.
After looking at it most of the night and this morn', I find...

When I first came to homerecording my plans were to record my songs for my grandkids.
As I added more hard/software and heard songs that other people recorded at home and were selling one of my eye brows raised up in interest.
I asked and asked what I should get for some homerecording...
I just come back from an hour or so tour at GreyStudio over on Angelfire. kristian was kind enough to give me the link.
http://www.angelfire.com/al3/studio/index.htm
I recognized some of the names from here. I got to tell y'all, I'm really impressed. I thought you'd have a studio like mine...
I played a Gretch Duo Jet this afternoon that had Pearly Gates at the bridge and 59s up front.
I played it through all the amps I have.
I play primarily the blues.
I've nothing against the P/Ups on my SG, but the sound of those two P/Ups on that Gretch has that little sound I've been looking...
I bought the Omni Studio.
It comes with a Delta 66 sound card and the Desktop Audio Station.
I installed the sound card, no problem.
In the manual it says I can plug the Desktop Audio Station in to a
AM/FM reciever to use the speakers.
I have an AM/FM reciever and Klipsch speakers.
I...
I have the VS840GX.
I installed a scsi card in it.
Bought an external zip drive but it quite. I returned it. I didn't get another external zip drive cuz I didn't know how to get my recording from the external zip to my computer to burn them to disk.
What's the best way to get my recordings...
I'm about to install Sonar, but I've noticed some people having problems with it.
I'm using Win98.
Delta 66 Soundcard from the Omni Studio.
Pro Audio 9 is on my system also.
In the user manual, it says to place Sonar in it's own folder.
No problem there...
Evidently Sonar and PA9 can be...
I have Sonar and PA9.
Someone told me I might be able to use a plug-in from 'Cubase VST plug-in'.
Can I use a Cubase plug-in on a cakewalk program?
Thanks in advance.
I have soundblaster live.
I've read where everyone says to use the 'line in' on the sound card for mic and guitar.
I've looked on the back of the sound card and see nothing that says 'line in'.
Only some etchings in the metal that have no meaning to me, yet. Well, I do recognize the mic...
I have the 840GX. I bought a scsi card for it a week or so ago.
What I read in the owners manual about installing it sounds pretty easy, but I've read stuff like that before. Like where when ya get half way in to the project, something goes wrong.
Has anyone else installed the scsi card...
I've been listening to music since I was a wee tyke.
Like most of us, I dabble in the relm of songwriting.
I've written over two hundred songs.
One thing that keeps happening to me is this.
I wrote a kids song, for young children, my grandkids.
I let a friend listen to it before I began...
