I have a a folder of sampled music/beats/sound/speach/poetry that I have been throwing stuff into for the last couple of years. It is the best thing I have ever collected, because the more stuff accumulates in there, the more fun you can have with trying to throw unusual things on top of each...
Okay I reckon I'm going to go for the M-Audio Omni Studio. I can't find it for any cheaper than $399. Anybody know anywhere I can get it cheaper ? Somewhere in the UK would be handy, but I reckon an online US store will work out the cheapest.
Thanks.

OK I had the bright idea of posting the instrumental version of this song here to get some EQ and panning advice before the vocalist comes out to do her part. The finished version will have a vocal in the middle so take that into account...
I want to spend my money on sound quality, and not loads of inputs and outputs, not preamps, and not midi capability. I want between $200 and $350. I know there is probably a million threads looking for soundcards but I wanted to be a bit more specific, ( and lazy )if this has been asked to the...
I have an old drum track, the high hat is just that bit to loud in it, but the feeling is there. If I use a notch filter, is there any frequency range I could cut that would help ?
Thanks
pAp.
I use a Behringer MX2004A mixer. I have only one 1/8" jack input into my soundcard. I want to use the standard bass drum/snare/2 stereo overheads technique for recording our drummer. I'm waiting for him to arrive for the session now and decided to test the stereo overheads by panning them all...
I've got a Johnson JT50 with the foot controller. I like it a lot, as it gives me a good variety of tonesand effects for gigs and is also good for recording, for the price. I am considering an upgrade now though and was wondering what you guys thought of the tube driven JM120 ?
Much...
I am in the middle of an album project which is completely separate from my band situation. It is turning out to be a chilled out instrumental affair with funk and jazz music and samples over pretty big hiphop beats. I've spent alot of time on the beats and less on the music so far, but I think...
I am a working musician first, a newbie but passionate home recording enthusiast second and a DJ third. I need new headphones for my DJ'ing, and I have been looking at the sennheiser HD600's. They are pretty pricy, but I imagine they would also be good for those 4am mixing sessions when my...
This is very probably the dumbest question in history but.......
One of the little buttons beside each track in the multitrack view of CEPro gives you three options, it allows you to choose whether the corresponding track is left channel, right channel or stereo.
Two questions.
1: I assume...

Our drummer is investing in a new kit to replace his much abused, and ageing pearl setup. I would love to hear some suggestions for a good kit in and around the $1200 mark. He would like a tight hiphop/funk sound.
Thanks,
Pap.
I mic up my Johnson JT50 Mirage amp with a Sennheiser e609 and put it through a Behringer MX2004A mixer into a crappy (onboard a gigabyte motherboard) sound card. I have experimented a little with mic positions and also with mixing the mic'ed sound with a direct out sound, as well as recording...
This is the raw recording of a song by myself and a friend called 'Last Chance Saloon' I'd like to hear some advice on levels\eq\panning, I don't think it needs much in the way of effects or compression but correct me if I'm wrong.
I've got a HP CD-Writer 7500e (external) connected to the parallell port of a PC I have recently been trying to convert into a decent DAW. I've added a new HD for audio data and switched to Windoze 2K. The Adaptec software that came with the CD-Writer is not compatable with 2K ( surprise ). I...
