To say that you can't get a good drum sound by using only one mic is completely untrue.
I'm not saying that this is a killer drum sound, but it's pretty good.
Yeah, I know...another laptop question...........:spank:.........but anywhooo...
I'm in the market for a laptop...either used or new. I'll be using it with a Presonus Firestudio and a Digimax FS.
I would like some suggestions from people who use their laptops with the Presonus Studio drivers...
So I'm pretty new to MIDI. I've got EZ Drummer. I'm wondering if there's a way to record each instrument on it's own track? Say for instance that I drag a MIDI groove into the instrument track. Can I have the snare on one track, kick on another, and so on...??? If so, how? I would like to...
The last song that I converted to mp3 sounded absolutely aweful after it was converted (not that the original sounded great). :D
But seriously, I exported the song as a 16/44.1 stereo wav file. I then used Audacity to convert it to a 128 mp3. The mp3 lost so much quality and also had this...
Anybody tried these mics? I see that they're introducing an enCORE 100i instrument microphone. One of those just might have to end up in my mic collection.:D
This is a rough mix. Not perfect I know, but tell me what you think about the sound and mix.
I know that there are some timing issues and the vocals aren't that good (singer was sick and will be redone). But, how does it sound? Do the instruments work well together? Levels of instruments...
We have a Let me see your studio thread, but I don't have a studio. I record live. So I want to see what you use to record live. So let me see your live rig or portable rig or on-location rig...whatever you want to call it.
I'll start it off.
I've been meaning to take some action shots (and...

Here's what I'm looking at so far: and it needs to be come from musiciansfriend because I'm using a gift card.
Fender 25R...

I just read Massive's article on tracking too hot...
I'm going under the "no stupid question" assumption, here. Let's say that I've tracked to -12dbFS, then in my DAW I increase the gain by 10db (not moving the fader, but processing the track to increase the gain).
Is that the...
I've got two Presonus Firepods for sale. These things have worked flawlessly since I got them. They are both in great shape. One has all of the software and the other doesn't have any software.
Firepod #1 comes with the Firepod, power supply, and manual. You can download the drivers from...

I'm considering selling off this stuff....
Is anyone interested?
The Behringer HA4700 is practically brand new. All I've done is turned it on and tested each headphone output on the front panel.
The Furman is in perfect condition and has been used very few times.
The Firepods have worked...
Here's what's up.
I recorded a Christmas choir concert that consisted of 3 different choirs. The same piano and mic setup was used for each choir. In other words, there was no time between choirs to change the setup. I have a total of 14 tracks for a little over an hour of record time...

Once I highlight multiple automation points for a track, is there a way to use my controller's fader to move all of those points at a time? I can click and drag them with a mouse, but I'm wondering about doing it with my fader?
So I'm looking for a pair of mics to use for drum overheads for live recording. I don't want to spend over $200 for the pair. What would you suggest? Here's what I've been looking at:
Sterling Audio ST31 SD FET Condenser ($99/each)
CAD e70 Dual Capsule Condenser ($99/each)
The CAD has...
