NT1 should be fine for sax, whats the room sound like?
I second not sticking it down the bell, put it out front a good foot or two. Like the photo, which I know isn't a NT1 but could have been LOL.

What else would work is buying a cable made for powered speakers that have the XLR and mains combined. You could cut the Mains plugs off both ends and replace it with a male Stereo jack one end and a female stereo jack the other. That way you use the XLR part for the mic and the mains cable to...
I found this video which has some good information about how to improve acoustics in the room, answers a lot of questions we get asked here. There was not much about bass trapping but still good advice.

If you don't want to make frames, one tip I saw in a studio design book was to use planter trays from a garden centre and put the 703 into them, you can then wrap it if you want.

Could not resist, there was a great deal for a Sontronics STC-3X pack, comes with a STC-3x mic, a suspension cradle that is the quality of a Neumann cradle, pop shield and a mic lead.
What a great mic for the price, 3 pattern, omni, cardioid and fig8, 2 bass roll off settings and 2 x pad...
A few weeks back I bought a MXL V67Q stereo mic, it was on special at a price I could not resist and being a gear junkie I had to buy it. I have been waiting for a drum session so I could try it out as a stereo overhead. Well this week I recorded and mixed a project with drums and I used the...
Funny enough the Studio Projects VTB-1 (I have 3 of them) has an impedance button for ribbon mics, they suggest the 50ohm setting for ribbons, but my ribbons seem to be better at the 200ohm setting. The actual impedance of the pre does not match the impedance of the mic (terminology wise)...
On Tuesday I was offered a ticket to see John McLaughlin. I had not seen him perform since the 1970's in the Mahavishnu Orchestra and I remember back then that the music was 3 story's above my head and I really did not understand anything that was going on LOL, well this show was only 1 story...
Mumm, this thread started in 2005, it was rehashed in 2007, 2009 & 2011, here we are again? I am sure by now everyone has tried out the e609 and the e906?
5 pin Din to 4 x RCA connectors is very common, you could get one of these and a mic to rca adaptor and try each RCA until you get the right one that works LOL.
I thought that once, but I have used a fathead on acoustic when I have had to record the acoustic along with the vocal, and the results are good. I also often record a fathead with another mic usually a LDC as I find blending the 2 mics gives a very warm tone, see image.

P.S: thats...
How do you get that 80's vocal sound?
First you have to wear the right clothes:
Then get one of these:
