    Arp Solina String Samples

From the instrument I recently repaired I have created a truly beautiful collection of samples for use in hardware and software samplers. I put a great deal of effort into creating these and they are of outstanding quality and useful for many genres. Listen for yourself...

Good affordable Mastering - if it exists...

Hi Hopefully in the near future I am going to take the plunge into a CD release for my band. Up to now I have done all recording and mixing myself. Considering my experience level and the gear I use I feel that I get the job done properly most of the time. However, I know my limitations (I...

    Electric Violin?

Alright this is proving quite the challenge. I am attempting to get a good clean sound from an electric violin. So far the instrument is proving extremely difficult to tame. What I am finding most difficult is compression. Can anybody shed some light on how to compress this thing? Thanks!

Echo AudioFire 12 OR RME Fireface 400

I want good sound most of all. Stable performance is a must. What I do not need is Mic Pres. Which of these two boxes sounds better? I have read good things about the sound on both units. I am wondering if they are on the same level soundwise and the difference in price is only buying me extra...

Acid 6 and it's proprietary Midi Files

I find it pretty disturbing how the software companies are bastardizing standards that were carved in stone decades ago. In programs like Logic and Acid 6 when you export a Standard Midi File (SMF) you do not get an SMF. Instead you get some messed-up conglomeration full of illegal messages that...

    Cover Art Concept

Last night I geeked out for a few hours with Photoshop and came up with a concept CD cover. http://s108.photobucket.com/albums/n13/somnium7/web/?action=view&current=CD-Concept-01.jpg Haven't thought of a title for the CD yet. Let me know what you think of the design.

    WTB Casio CZ-230s Synth

Yup, just gotta have it. Was my very first synthesizer back in the mid-eighties. Loved the guitar strap pegs and being able to wear it. If you got one sitting in a closet or under a bed, dig it out and I'll pay you for it. Must be a 230s, not interested in others.

    Hysterical Customer Reviews

I hate equipment that gives me that *too much sonic signal* problem... I'm not too sure of this fella's pickyness... This guy must really love his SM Pro Audio OC8.... especially considering he wrote this earlier in the review... I'm still wondering why he didn't send it back :confused...

    Headlights (old-skool New Wave)

Wifey and I were having some drinks and listening to old New Wave songs (one of our pasttimes) and while listening to Fade To Grey by Visage we decided we were going to write an original song done in that old-skool New Wave sound. First we had to come up with an appropriate subject matter and...

    going dark

it appears I'm not the only person here who watched somebody they loved systematically destroy themselves with drug addiction. Last night I was remembering such a person who was very dear to me and had to get this out of my system. I guess it's not art or inspiration - maybe therapy... I...

    Analog synth repair, modifications, design

Ok so here's me: 8 years with large electronic companies including Motorola, Aries, EFE Labs and Sag Harbor industries. Ribbon Mics and Preamp Impedance

Since I have never owned a ribbon mic before i have been digging around the internet doing some research. I see some articles discussing which impedance level to set the preamp at for the best sound. Some say use a very high impedance and others say use very low. So this leaves me wondering...

    websites, logos, what's cool?

I have the unglorious and often repetitive job as a web developer specializing in corporate intranets and web applications. I almost never take it home with me and even if I want to my carpal tunnel is all agravated by the end of the day so i'm reduced to poking at the keyboard. Anyway, wifey...

    Got My Delta 1010LT

My ONE BIG GRIPE - why the hell couldn't they pair up the stereo cables? WTF guys? Besides that, it is a thing of beauty. The sound is suprisingly clean and crisp. At one point I think my wife caught me drooling while I listened to some mixes with my headphones. Everything had it's own place...
