So I'm sure you have heard the song by the fifth dimension? Well the intro starts with the orchestra then blends in with the band (thump, th-thump). How does recording a song like this start? Do they listen to a click track? Im so confused about this.
Hi, I'm stuck in between the Han D Mag 112v or the Teac E-3. The Ms16 manual states that I should use the E-3 for demagnetizing. I can buy an E-3 on ebay for about 30 bucks, and the Han D Mag is around 70 dollars. I do want something that will get the job done, safely. Which one should I buy?
I'm interested in this mic but Im wondering if it will pick up everything like a condenser? I have my mind on a condenser or this baby. If you have any expirience let me know.
Ive got a master room xl305 that id like to use for stereo but the left channel is too noisy so id like to use the right only. Is there anyway I can get the right output signal to go to 2 channels on my mixer so I can use stereo? Thanks

I have this awesome song and well a horrible thing happened. There is this one part where the tape is sorta bent and well I want to take the part of the song that didnt come out and take another part of the song and replace the messed up part. I have tried this: I copied the original tape to my...
I looked in the manual and It recommends you use a teac e3 demagnetizer. I have the E1. Is this okay to use? Also do you all have any tips or anything? Thanks :)
I have a couple of questions. When Im recording the vocal track I always have to put the microphone input always on max to even hear myself through the mix. I might just have the band mixed levels too high... Another thing is I have two effects id like to use in this song im doing. I have one...
The setup I have is annoying me because I cant see the meters really well...
So I've decided to change things up a bit and heres what I came up with:
The only part I might have trouble with is moving the meters in front of the MS16 "brain".
Tell me what you all think. I hope this can...
Since the fall of good music, crap has dominated over the airwaves and some of our buddies have fallen victim to crap. Im trying to figure out a great way to market my music... The genre I make is soft adult contemporary. I would like to make money from it but really all I want to do is let...
I have very little knowledge on compressors. The only experience I've had is using a compression effect on my keyboard which makes the sound more "in your face". Last night I sang through a mic along w/ the recorded audio from my ms16 recording on my 3340. When I played back the tape on the 3340...
I recorded all the music on one of my songs and polished it to my preference. I sent the output of my mixer to my 3340 and as I was listening back to it I noticed the right side was much louder than the left. The controls on my 3340 were at the same level. So I disconnected the headphones on the...
The send output jack on my Ramsa board has two inputs (L,R 1/4). I'd like to use this for sending audio to as many as 3-4 headphones. Do I need a headphone amp? If so, could someone point me to a reliable one?
Thanks
Hello there. What is the best amp to run keys through? I want to buy a Prophet 5 synth and I already have a Nord electro 3. I would like to nail two birds with one stone if it is possible.
Alright so I started recording on my MS16 today :)
I recorded bass on track 3 and I guess I didn't see the meter as I was recording but now that Im playing back the tape I see the meter on track 3 going up to +3. Its not clipping or anything and I swear the bass on that track sounds off the...
So today I got the main ingredients to record my 10+ track songs.
I just acquired a Tascam MS16 a month ago and today I had enough cash saved up to buy a Ramsa WRT820 at a local music shop. This mixer is in pretty good shape! Well the Ramsa WRT820 has test tone switches which I've posted a...
Today I was messing around recording myself singing when I decided to use the L1,L2,R3,R4 Mic inputs. Well I had them all on source and I was listening off of it. L1, L2, and R4 sound muffled. R3 sounded perfect. Dont know what it could be...
