To anyone who uses one, what is your opinion of the preamps on the FW-1804 interface? Would it be 'worth it' to buy outboard preamps? I already use a Presonus Eureka on one channel (love it), but would it be a good idea to invest in more? (I.e. outboard preamp for each mic input.)
okay, I'm not a newbie to recording, just to patchbays. I usually record through my presonus eureka, but I plan on upgrading my compressors, and all that stuff. Do I even need a patchbay in a small project studio? If it would (even eventually) come in handy, what should I look for? I just...
Hey guys, all the positive things that everyone has said about the RNC and the RNP are finally starting to get to me. I gotta get 'em! If you guys don't mind me asking, did you buy them direct, or through a distributor? If anyone did order direct, did they charge the entire MSRP? (I'm on a...
I have Cubase SL3.0, and I recently purchased an M-Audio keyboard MIDI controller, which came with Ableton Live 4.0 lite. Are there any plugins that come with this version of Abelton live that would be compatible with Cubase?
I've got a little problem... I had a mic plugged into input 1 on the interface. Phantom power was on, and I plugged a processor into the insert jack. I think that I had the cable connected wrong to the processor, because when I tried to record, the recording would just stop at a certain...
Does anyone have any experience with this combination? If so, any help would be appreciated! I'm loading BFD (probably still) as you're reading this, and would like to know if there are any hints on how to get them integrated smoothly... ReWire? VSTi? Which way would be the easiest to get...
I've had a Gibson SG for a couple of years now, and recently went to upgrade the factory Gibson 490's for something a little more edgy. I have an ES-135 hollowbody for the more mellow stuff. So, I went to my local guitar shop and got a seymour duncan JB for the bridge, and a Jazz for the...
I've got an e-machines system with a 200gb hard drive. I don't know any of the specs on it, so keep that in mind. I just went out and got a BFD drum sampling program, and it's 9gb of info. It says in the manual that ideally, you should install it on a hard drive that is dedicated to audio...
I have an e-machines pc, with a nice setup for the money... a 200gb hard drive came installed. I recently got a pretty nice drum sampling program, and in the manual it says that it would be better to have a dedicated hard drive for all of the audio programs, and I guess, have one that is...
Maybe you guys can help me more than the people on the cubase forum...
I have a brand new e-machines computer, it has an AMD Athlon processor which supposedly runs @ 2.4ghz... I have a Tascam FW-1804 interface, and an Emu 1212m soundcard/daughter card installed (the soundcard for the DSP...
