    Room mic

Yes totally agree. But that doesn't prevent me from seeking objective feedback from others who record at home. Otherwise what's the point of a site like homerecording.com?

    Room mic

Yeah I do like the crunchy distortion the compression adds but of course it pulls the room up as well. I'm used to the sound of the room, was just interested in how obvious it is to other folks

    Room mic

Cheers strat. The compression on the room mic gives the drums a nice crunch but it really does plaster that room sound everywhere

    Room mic

Thanks Spantini. That was my other question. I've gone back and pulled the bass down to a more acceptable level

    Room mic

Yeah I hear you. Seems like rooms aren't that popular any more :D

    Period (neo disco 80s style)

Yeah when I think of 80's disco it's more sequenced riffs that comes to mind, bit more distortion, thicker bass n drums. Like Sylvester

    Hypocritic Oath

Mix is a little muddy. Lead break is fab. Maybe high pass some stuff, vocal maybe, rhythm guitar. But yeah killer solo. Nice job

    God Drinks in the Mountains

Now there's three people at peace with their craft. Superb Tjarko lead break. Nice job

    v.1 or v.2?

I listened to both on my monitors and on old hifi speakers and at the risk of outing my lack of critical listening skills, I can't tell any difference whatsoever

    The Thrill Is Gone

The wife pricked up her ears while I was playing this. 'Who's that? He sounds black'. :D The progression is a tad too traditional for me but you sure got some chops and the vocal is great.

    Taters Turnips N Rutabaga

Yeah I agree with Dobro on the last note. I have trouble recording sustained bass notes as they tend to descend into a muddy mushy buildup but you don't seem to have that issue here. The Squier sounds good. Fun to explore the creative possibilities of new kit

    When the Morning Comes

Very chill vibe as usual. Never heard of Cafe del Mar but it sounds like the kind of place I'd like to visit. Beautiful vocals, great use of delays & reverb. Good job

    Room mic

I mixed the room mic into this a bit more than usual. Does it make it sound... too roomy? https://drive.google.com/file/d/1g362zEjziwUXR040h3qgwrz-g7pRLOe9/view?usp=sharing It's also a bit of a longer jam than what I usually like, just couldn't carve any more out. Does it maintain interest...

    Hidden

Windows 11 update told me there wasn't enough space to install the s/w so I went to move some old crap off my laptop to my ssd backup, and that was full as well. So I went looking for stuff to remove and found this along the way. @Dogman put this all together in 2006 and I did drums...

    Sweet Marguerita

That bass out front and centre is great. Love that growly tone. Nice full mix too. Vocals really set the scene. Put this on at a wedding, everyone's on their feet :D

Struck a Match by Ghosts of 48

I would slide the drums forward a couple of ms so they are more synced with the guitars. You could compress the vocal a lot harder, would add to the rockin feel. Nice job

New Honey Hunters - Fabulous Wonderful

Sounds really good. I like everything about it except the chorus. Vocals are great as are melody and composition. Good job

    So I'm not that special

Ah yes I remember those heady headphone poppin days. With this one I was trying for bass more in the pocket than in the face. You're right though, I've made some adjustments. Good intel thanks Kev

Tied Up And Twisted - Original blues/rock song

Yeh I agree with the above. Also I would simplify the drums, the repetitive fills aren't contributing. Pretty good for your first original

    "Falling"

It's a very nice lead break. Amazing how well it fits over a different version recorded 5 years later. That's some tempo matching. Were you actually trying to keep the tempo identical to the original?
