How does it help -- mouth clicks?
I recently discovered that cold air boosts the top of my vocal register up a solid fourth. Maybe I'll track my next song outside in below-freezing weather!
It's on the far side of the camera view, so there's some lens distortion going on (that's why it looks oblong). But yeah, PR48 is the one I reckon, with the XLR input on the side. Anyway, I was really just curious, never even heard of Heil before. Thanks!
What's this mic?
I spotted it in a Jacob Collier video -- it's not actually being used while in the shot, but appears to be over a drum that has a brush on it?
I feel like you could up the bass 1db overall, and snare could have a bit more "bite". Full percussion section could work too to match the number of guitars I think I hear (?). Altogether a really nice composition, a vocal would be ideal on there.
Welcome @DannyMcO! You'll find plenty of advice -- and perhaps a bit of humor sprinkled here and there -- on this forum. Looking forward to discussing!
"Pieces" -- like, mixed and mastered finished product songs? or individual stems?
Yes, please post screen shots! Also, it might be helpful to know what genre we're dealing with?
My current one is M1 MAX, I haven't tried M2 but I know M3 is trippy, hence why I figured M2 is best. But I'm very happy with my M1 :)
Edit: use Ventura for OS, it's very reliable, better than Sonoma up till now.
I don't have Pro Tools, but I can confirm that, if this is going to be a mainly music-only computer, overall the M3 is not worth the money. I'd get an M2 with a level or two of RAM upgrade (and maybe storage, depending on your music production style). Hope this helps!
OK, I think this calls for a compromise -- I was comparing the two latest versions. While the first had vox a bit too forward, the second had them a bit "covered". So I re-automated all the vocals and the end result is now in between those two versions. Just proving, once again, that a mix is...
