Has anyone got any tips for recording bass straight-in? I don't have a bass amp modeller or anything fancy, just a plain old 1/4" into the line level of my Alesis interface.

Sorry if this has been asked before - I see a few similar threads but I thought I'd start my own. I have a bunch of acidized .wav loops from Drums on Demand. Can I alter their tempo but preserve their pitch in Reaper?

Let me preface this by saying that I can't tune or play drums. All I know is that my toms sound reverby as hell - unpleasantly so. Instinct - and purely instinct - would suggest to me that the bottom skins are too loose?

Hey guys I've a rack compressor unit - Samson Ccom 16 - which I use for compressing VOX and D.I'd bass. I hooked it up in front of my amp and put my guitar through it, producing some aggressive though not unusable sounds...is this advisable?

I've FINALLY worn out a five metre Proel cable. It's lasted me 18 months, I think that's the longest I've ever gotten from a cable. It'll still sound okay between my pedals and amp but it can't stand up to being moved around in the instrument. I'm gonna see if I can get a few more this weekend...
