Ha - It worked! "Unfit for Consumption"

Time stamp on the song names would be a good touch. First thing out of the shoot, had a Tom Petty feel, then moved away from it. It worked. I couldn't say was thrilled with the synth sound at the beginning of song 1. Not a huge nit, but since you are approaching a very high level, from a...

    thoughts on AI songwriting service/sites?

Yes, the money is to make a person sound great, without the work, then AI. For me, while I will use the tools, I have to find where I will cut it off. Kind of like the Amish, as some point you live inside a self imposed tech time frame. I have mine in my little pea brain, I push the tech, push...

New song slightly remixed. Would appreciate feedback.

I would think that you maybe over correcting the vocals. Maybe lower the timing speed, reduce correction from 100% to 90? I think perfect vocals will always sound bad. IMO. Now I know that is a real voice, get the computer out of it and that is a very good vocal.

    New personal recording rule update

HAHAHA, this is so funny, but relevant, at least to me. I am not a "stoner", but like a nice little buzz. The goldylocks, not too much, not too little, just right. I do create when I have a buzz, like to jam, but I just create a "scratch track" so I can remember what the hell I was doing. Then I...

New song slightly remixed. Would appreciate feedback.

Could you give a bit more information on your recording process? Vocals sound very robotic. Maybe I am not listening correctly. It was way too bright for my ears, my impression, good energy, very dance worthy. It does sound like European pop music, early 90's and forward. Not sure what Europe...

    New Members: Introduce Yourself Here!

Hi Chris, be sure to check out the MP3 clinic. There is lots to learn from the people who post, and reading feedback, as well as posting yourself. Even if you don't have any "improvement" comments, be sure to let people know you heard it. We all seem to like that part ;)

I hope it's ok that I make this point

I think that is it right there. What one needs to use to achieve one's objective (not to sound too sterile) and accepting that.

    normalize vox?

You can always edit the section that is too low and raise just that, making sure you don't wonk it. If you have a good wave editor, just do some surgical improvements to the wave itself.

    Launchkey MK4 - 61

Purchased a new keyboard controller a couple of days ago. Finally replacing my PC-100 that is over 35 years old. I was sure it would make a difference, but I am glad to say it was worth price. 61 weighted keys (I am not a true player, so 88 is really a waste. Touch sensitive and aftertouch...

Ha - It worked! "Unfit for Consumption"

I do all of my stuff as a whole collection, and what you say is really true. To get all of the songs to sound that they are related to each other, even when they have no sound connection, other than the concept. That is a tedious task, but when it all comes together, ...

Ha - It worked! "Unfit for Consumption"

I haven't listened, but have it on my list. I would assume feedback for mix and master is probably not expected unless something really bad (which, with all of the players, I am sure it has been scrubbed). Just wanted to let you know, I will listen, but have to prepare for the commitment.

Over 100 BILLION Streams Record Producer - a Conversation with Howard Benson

No other place to put it, but I really like what the guy is saying. Long, but for those who are serious about music. I think this guy is giving a good lecture.

    The Old Masters

I would like to learn what others know on this subject. But I was thinking about the process of composing when Mozart and others were composing and giging. Need a sponsor. You compose your music most likely on the piano, but when you write it, you have to rely often on your memory how it...

Using stretch markers in Reaper to fix bad drum timing issues

That is one of those "improvements" for live players that just make modern recording so much a pleasure.

Dallas, TX, 90's, once a month on Saturday, you would go and find all of the "bulk" computer parts, broken out, or in bulk, for sale. Cash only no credit cards. I think the UK call it Carboot sales? Something like that.

Order CDs vs. burn my own CD-Rs - a problem of CD player compatibility

If you really want a CD like the old days, they only way to go is by pressing. I was just looking on CD Baby, I think their CD packages still press. I also learned, not cheap, they will press vinyl. That is pretty interesting. I would check that it is a pressing and not a burn, but the whole...
