I may trim the very lowest and highest off a bass track manually in the EQ of choice for a given track, but generally don't do any hi/low pass filtering. The signal is usually clean enough there's only 'information' captured I'd want.
Scooping out some space for the other instruments as...
The con to this is not leaving a lot of room to adjust if it's needed later. I generally do DI and have a raw, unaffected WAV of the performance to use with my guitar sim software. This allows for 100% control of all the tonal qualities past the pickups and strings.
Any filtering should be...
Sounds scripted, like they were maximizing their efforts to get as many commonly used file types as possible. The greater the impact to the infected person, the more likely that person will pay. Encrypting personal files (doc, xls, jpg, wav, mp3, mp4 etc) is where the money is at.
BTW, I work...
I do annual backups of my pictures to dvd/bluray. Project files for songs (as well as a stem export) also get burned to dvd/bluray when completed. These items get tossed into a small fire safe I have. This at least ensures some level of retention should fire, hacker, or geomagnetic storm...
If you're a master and can record a flawless take. Otherwise now you have two things to flub each time you press record. On top of that, each time you get up, sit down, shift in the chair, etc and reset your position in front of the mics you change ever so slightly the recording dynamics. So...
100%. I record to digital in the same way I did on analog. I hit record. Play the thing. I hit stop. I rarely comp past that unless it's to copy/paste for use later in the song. If a performance is meh, it gets re-recorded. It's not just the convenience, to mine and a couple million other...
Most car stereos with no 3.5mm input are bluetooth capable, are you sure your's is not?
Sounds like you're using legacy gear with legacy gear. I typically recommend people in your situation improve the overall situation with just a nominal expenditure in new equipment rather spend that money...
Isn't this going to introduce latency? I suppose if only mixing/playing back, then it matters not. But if expecting to be doing anything in real time while tracking I would assume there's a penalty adding converters into the chain.
This is exactly what I do, I have the ATH-M50 for recording and basic mixing, then switch to Sennheiser HD600 for more fine tuned headphone mixing, and finally my studio monitors just to confirm and make small adjustments as necessary. In all honesty, I'm so used to these headphones now after...
The second keyboard from the left gives a fantastic happy ending.
Very clean setup. I'm in the opposite direction, very little outboard gear and almost all virtual at this point. Let's have a song-off sometime, see if anyone can tell who's using what gear. ;)
If it comes back/continues to be an issue...
1) Get a usb (or usb-c) to ethernet adapter, for situations where a wired connection is the only one available or wireless is acting up.
2) Google "uninstall wireless device manager windows 11", follow those steps, then reboot the laptop. The...
My goodness, too many of them are. These Yamahas are fairly ubiquitous in home recording and are rear ported. :wtf:

Just scrolling through sweetwater's selection there's way too many that are rear...
I did a few tests searches for trumpet, banjo, piano. The results were in there, although I found it odd that many of the first results for trumpet and banjo weren't either, but there were some specific plugins listed a bit further down the list. There were also fewer results overall than I...
Most of the monitors you'll be looking at will be front ported for the reason you described, because most studio setups have the monitors positioned close to, if not in, a wall. Mine are 2" from the wall on stands. It's rare for studios and especially home recording layouts to have the desk...
I used a drum stool which is set aside most of the time for tracking, and a standard office chair for the other 99% of the time. My entire desk is also a hydraulic lift style, so I can stand when I want (bad back).
I would also discourage from buying anything labeled as a prefab "intended for music" computer. As previously explained well, they're a niche product intended to separate money from buyer.
Any top of the line computer (Intel/Windows or Apple/Mac) will do anything you need. Interfaces can be...
