High end recording gear vs high end audiophile listening gear.

That is a little off of what my point is, but I get what you are saying. I am saying that there is a point of diminishing returns when listening to an album recorded on these super high end systems and I do not believe that there is any improvement in the sound once you cross that point. I think...

High end recording gear vs high end audiophile listening gear.

I think mix and mastering engineers do that as well. I wager that any record will sound as good or better in a $200,000 mastering studio than on any 2 million dollar HiFI system in someone’s house. It will also sound less colored in the Mastering studio.

Who still mixes with a console?

I think when you say ‘Bogen’ then it’s required that you spell out the words Public Address System afterwards and not use the more common abbreviation of PA…..lol. Goddamn we’re are getting old.

Order CDs vs. burn my own CD-Rs - a problem of CD player compatibility

What I can’t do is scroll through digital playlists to find something to listen to. I can thumb through vinyl records or CDs or cassette tapes a pull out several things I want to listen to but if I’m on a screen and the song titles are in a spreadsheet list form I immediately lose interest and...

Order CDs vs. burn my own CD-Rs - a problem of CD player compatibility

USB drives are a good alternative to CDs for the car. We still listen to CDs at work but often the other folks in the shop are listening to something else in their earbuds from their phones. It’s kind of a problem when everyone in the shop is listening to their own private feeds rather than...

Order CDs vs. burn my own CD-Rs - a problem of CD player compatibility

Aren’t all CD player old by now? Perhaps the issue has to do with the possibility that the CD wasn’t finalized which should be corrected in a setting in you CD burning software.

Guitar 'truths" that you believe are myths

Unfortunately, most of the things they did to change the aesthetics were bad choices, such as their Aria Pro 2 headstock and making the binding thicker. It’s too bad they couldn’t have gotten someone with an eye for aesthetic design who could have improved their look.

    Signature Guitar Strings?

Anyone can buy OEM strings in bulk from Martin or D’Addario and put their own labels on them. This has been true for decades.

Sittin on the dock of the bay cover

When the guitar comes in on the right at around 0:29 it’s too loud and a little too ahead of, or on top of, the beat, making it clash with the vocal. It should be lazily behind the beat.

Guitar 'truths" that you believe are myths

It is a big deal if it hurts your bottom line which is number of units sold. Aesthetics do account for some things, and in the case of Heritage Guitars it’s their butt ugly headstock that has prevented this brand from being a major player in the marketplace. They should’ve just kept the open...

    Stereo versus mono

There is no extra. It’s just divided into two sources rather than one source. Mono comes from one source and stereo comes from 2 sources. Surround sound comes from even more multiple sources. It’s not more or less information it’s just how the information is split up before it comes out of the...
