ZOOM R20--am I able to shift tracks forward or back by, say, 20 milliseconds?

I do not. I care about the music I record, and wouldn't ever do this. Poster above has the right idea though... do it in a DAW. Reaper is FREE.

ZOOM R20--am I able to shift tracks forward or back by, say, 20 milliseconds?

You REALLY just want to Double Track the part... just doing this slight delay isn't going to acheive the *REAL* effect that you want.

Chorus of Perfect Day Cover by Lou Reed - What effect is used in the original?

I can't help with the plugin (I'd be interested in getting a copy of it too), but wanted to say that I never saw this thread back in the day... and Perfect Day (and Transformer as a whole) is such a good track/album. In fact the whole Bowie/Reed/Pop catalog at that time was AMAZING! I like your...

Amp Sim - Mono/Stereo/Mono Input Stereo Channel? How Are You Doing It?

Just record 2 Mono Guitar tracks, with a Mono Guitar Amp Sim, Panned Hard Left/Hard Right. Boom! The only reason you should ever have a "Stereo" Guitar Track (Stem/Render?) would be if you've got some Delay/Tremelo/Reverb on it that's going back and forth between the Stereo field. Otherwise just...

Dumbass questions about gainstaging - help or point me where to go!

They're probably using a Compressor/Limiter. They get their track as loud as possible without clipping by Brickwalling it (hence the solid blue brick... it chops the peaks off the transients). I'd probably ask first about what "pieces" are you talking about? Mixed Tracks? You mention dropping...

The Migration to Win 11 begins

Sorry. I meant that Windows 7 was great. Windows 10 was OK and Windows 11 stinks. They keep getting worse. Also, as for going online with Windows 7 not being a great idea, Microsoft isn't providing any security updates for W7 any longer... I'm sure you think that "Windows Protection" or...

The Migration to Win 11 begins

As was half of China. ;) In all seriousness though... it's probably not a great idea to be online with a W7 machine... while I do agree that W7 was/is the better of W7/W10/W11 it just keeps getting worse.

    Just popped into my head

Yeah, the "tone" of the guitar track reminded me of Killing Joke for some reason, the band. Surprised it's DI using Amp Sims... you must have some huge Reverb or something at the end of the chain, no?

Killing Joke? Where are you recording? What are you using?

    Copy/Paste MIDI

You need to open up the Piano Roll, Select the Notes, then Paste it there. Or you could Select the MIDI Item from the Track, Hold Control if you're on PC and Drag it to Bar 3, which Copies it. I'm assuming that you're trying to Copy it, but it's basically just Copy/Pasting the Track itself, not...

Voiceover advice needed - Shure MV7 vs. SM7B for Windows PC

"I keep hearing that that's not the best." And this is making you question using your MV7? Is the MV7 not working well for you? What seems to be the problem? If it's just other people online telling you that SM7B > MV7, then... who cares? Maybe it is... maybe it isn't. The only reason it should...

New Original Song: Wake Up Again by Reve + Ujn

Since we got a pretty good response on our last track, here is our latest track. Love to hear your thoughts again. Written and recorded in Reaper between 1/15/2024 and 1/20/2024. I used ToneX for my guitar track.

Having trouble with Neewer NW-800 Microphone set up

Wasn't meaning to be harsh at all... "I bought a cheap a brewer NW-800 Microphone" was what was said in the OP. So, I offered up another cheap Neewer item that does what OP wants... it's cheaper than building it, and it shows as available on my end...

Having trouble with Neewer NW-800 Microphone set up

https://www.amazon.com/Neewer-1-Channel-Microphone-Condenser-Recording/dp/B014H8AWGC Since you cheaped out on the Mic, you can cheap out on the 48v phantom power too... surely $20 is cheaper than building your own... ;)

What sample rate and bit rate these days?

I'm also in the 48 khz/ 24 bit for recording purposes (unless I'm working with someone else's files or by accident) and then I'll render a 44.1/16 as the final for uploading to the streaming services. :)

    XLR to USB?

I wouldn't go near that plastic iRig. It may be tempting at only $60, but for $40 more you can get 2 channels in a sturdy metal box with 24-Bit/192 kHz and quality pre-amps of a Behringer UMC202HD. Or for $129 (only 1 input) but with some bells and whistles of the IK Multimedia AXE I/O One...

Little electric clicky noises recording DI bass

Do you have any other way to record that bass direct that isn't the RME Fireface UFX 2? Just to rule that out?
