How do .WAV files become Unix Executable Files? Has your computer been encrypted? Hopefully you have backups. I hate hard drive problems, usually the only thing that will save you is the backup. Best of luck.

I think what they're saying is that you can cut out some hits here and there. Editing drums is possible. If you don't want to do that or know how to do that, it's fine. That was the suggestion though, I believe.

Yeah, I don't have specific Patchbay recommendation based on your Tascam, but I really like the Samson S-Patch Plus 48 Patchbay https://samsontech.com/products/studio-tools/patch-bays/s-patch-plus/ as it has the switches for Thru/Normal/Half Normal right on the front for easy access/changes...

Nope. I used it when it released in... the 90's? :O I think I've only ever made 1 song with it... (I think I "own" a recent version, from the past 5 years or so, that came in a cheap Music Production bundle, but never bothered to install it).

So, I'd been meaning to get myself a decent Opto Comp (500 Series) and maybe a De-Esser too... but I realized that I had "MixBox" which is a 500 Series-esque plugin... and adding those to my Track after my nice Preamp did pretty much everything I'd want, so I'm probably going to save those...

What DAW are you using? I know in Reaper there are some weird things that happen if the "Pan Law" is set differently... I hear the Vocal in my Right Ear (other than the Ooh ooh parts).

I have (and have used this mic on a recording) but unless you're going to swap the top with an SM58, this SM57 clone isn't what you want.

I would buy an SM58 and wouldn't even think twice about it... ;)

Check out the Cranbourne Audio Camden 500 Mic Preamp. They seem to have nailed what you should be looking for in a Mic Preamp.
