    - Fast Car - Tracy Chapman cover -REMIX 2-

I like this one better - the chunky acoustic works nicely with the drums now to accentuate the rhythm. This one doesn't have that thing the other one had that attracted attention. I just settled into the song, I could just settle into the lyrics and the song story better. It's such a good song...

"Something in the Woods" - Indie folk

EZDrummer! I thought it was a physical drum. It's a good sound.

New Original Tune - I’ll get my shoes (rock/alternative/shoegazey?)

Mix 4: Vocal's really clear in the midst of all that distorted guitar - good work. Great knucklehead pop - really engaging tune! I think you're pretty much there.

"Something in the Woods" - Indie folk

'Something underground that struggles to be free'. Yeah, you're onto a good one here. Good first pass, for sure. Mark might have been right about dropping the extra verse. Really like this one. Lovely dark feel. I like the sound of the drum. What kind of drum? How'd you play it?

Year Of The Locust - cover of Nancy Blake tune

I liked the first one, but preferred this one. All things being equal, I think group chemistry beats overdubs just about every time. Great tune, yes?

    - Fast Car - Tracy Chapman cover -REMIX 2-

That thing going on about 30 left - what is it? Is it hard struck plectrum and palm mute on a guitar? Anyway, it's all attack in a way that attracts a lot of attention. Do you want that? The vocal: I know that you and the others have your doubts about it and if you re-do it, fine. But keep this...

Tempo Too Fast? / Mix Feedback

I think the tempo's fine. The main thing I noticed was that the space on the vocal pushes it behind everything else in the mix.

Except the Youtube version sounds better. ?

    Is the Mix Muddy?

Yeah, the balance is better on this one. Good work. You could fade that oscillating guitar at the end all the way to the end, instead of truncating. That's how closely I listened lol.

    Is the Mix Muddy?

I had a good time listening to this one. There's a drum to the left (kick?), yes, but it doesn't distract, I suppose, but would I like it closer to the center? Yes. The guitar left and the keys right fill the wings nicely. Lou Reed, Neil Young. That's the quadrant this one lives in. Good tune.

Drama In Andromeda (or, how I lost my llama)

^ This exactly. ^ Really like the sounds in this one, plus how you've assembled them. Begging for backing vocals, I think. ?

Natural Forces * Lyle Lovett cover * Final mix/Master

I know a band of Welshmen, singing in Welsh, who do good country. You make an internet, and this is what comes of it.

Natural Forces * Lyle Lovett cover * Final mix/Master

It doesn't sound muddy to me, but it does have a big bottom. I AB'ed it with 'Even After All' by Finley Quaye, which is an endstop mix for big lower end. Yours is inside that okay, but less well-defined.

Natural Forces * Lyle Lovett cover * Final mix/Master

I like when you mess around with stuff like this and I get to actually hear what you're talking about because I'm one of those people for whom 'cut a bit of this and boost a bit of that' communicates nothing - I have to hear it.

Natural Forces * Lyle Lovett cover * Final mix/Master

Big speakers: Don't boost the vocal overall, but that acapella note on 'underneath' - yes, please. Good work, Mark Skinner. (y) 'Sometimes at night I can hear voices'

Natural Forces * Lyle Lovett cover * Final mix/Master

I love Lovett and I really like this one. The sound of the guitar and that mando are beautiful. As for the vocal, two things. First, a touch more volume on the acapella note, please. And then another dB on the whole vocal track (and also on the bv track) to pull it forward a bit. This was an...

Original tune: So Slowly Tonight (Melodic punk, pop punk, alternative)

I can hear another guitar line in the chorus (cleaner, less distortion) that is built on a simple pattern of descending quarter notes over everything else that's happening. It pushes the rhythm and adds a new voice. Nice tune.

Intergalactic signals - Minimal techno track

You've posted two tracks at the same time here. I felt the video here could jump less to the beat - do it more subtly. You could start the movement at about 1.45, for example, when the new synth comes in. The raindrop synth needs attention as well - either less attack or a softening somehow. The...

Dance all night - Retro minimal electronic

Probably just means you're getting the sound you like as you record. Doesn't get better than that if that's the case. I really liked this one. I wanted the bass fart 1 dB louder. That's how much I liked it! Just saying. But then, I also wanted the synth that comes in at 2.05 to be 1 dB higher...

Original tune: Fair is Fair (Sludgy melodic alternative ambient rock)

KRKVXT8 listen: Sounds exactly right tonight. The song hasn't changed, so it must be my ears. But here's something that hasn't changed - I would love to hear what a mastering engineer did with this tune. It's worth it, right? Plus, we know it works on iPad. :ROFLMAO:
