I'm still working with an old Edirol AU 5 audio interface. It sounds OK to me but won't run an ASIO driver, even though it says it can. Am I missing anything still running an MME driver? Latency seems OK. I'd rather spend my money on something else. Thanks.

I'm recording vocals with a hypercardoid mic & am not sure what the best positioning is - straight on? I can see the pattern diagram on paper but it looks like the bottom part of the mic screen gets rejected & I should sing into the top half? Thanks.

I have been making a copy of my vocal track & mixing the dry track with the processed one that goes to the aux. Sometimes I've even had a 3rd track with different processing. I'm starting to think this is unnecessary. Do other people use more than one track usually? Thanks.
