Hi - are there any plug ins that simulate dif listening environments like the Focusrite VRM box does? ie they would be somewhat like a set of monitors. Thanks.
Hi - Still not sure if this is the right forum...I have sibilance in a chanting song that is driving me nuts & I can't find the right freq & Q to tone it down. Any ideas? The same clips repeats many times in the song. Thanks. I'm on Sonar X1

Hi - There may have been previous threads if you could point me to one:
My computer is getting really slow. I currently use a laptop - quiet, no fans. My understanding is that I could get a lot more for less money with a desktop but am concerned about fan noise. Any suggestions or other issues...
If I have an instrument track with a soft synth in X1 is there a way to render or bounce it to an audio track (so i don't need the synth any more) in the same project? Thanks.
Hi - Maybe this should be posted under mixing?
I have never been clear on some issues around aux sends:
pre or post? post for reverb & pre for everything else??
sometimes I just have one track to send & don't need to blend 2 or more tracks (like a lead vocal) - so in that case should the send...
Not sure which forum to post this, and sorry if this is dumb - I've never had powered monitors for mixing. Wouldn't the amplifier noise be a distraction? Thanks.
...so i can assign a new soft synth instrument to the clip? Thanks.
update - that may not be the correct terminology. When I load a soft synth to play a midi clip in Sonar Producer, I am not able to try different sounds or instruments - it keeps reverting to the same one over & over. I hope...
How important is it to use 2 hard drives? Or partition a hard drive? I'm a serious amateur, not a power user & so far it's all on one HD on my computer, along with everything else & works fine. I'm researching ahead for whenever I upgrade. Thanks.
Hi - Just starting on Sonar. I have lots of old projects done in cakewalk. I can open them in Sonar but I want to open them/copy them somehow into my template to save having to reset all of the parameters every time I open an old project. Importing doesn't work. Is there a way to do this? Thanks
Do you ever use more than one kind of reverb in the same piece? ie one for drums, another for vox, maybe a lite verb in the mastering stage for everything. Or just dif amounts of the same verb patch? Thanks.
Hi guys - another question: I'm slow in understanding more flexible ways to do routing - such as a submix for background vox. Can someone point me to a link that would give me ideas & explained well? Thanks.
Hi - I'm working through the x1 demo...I'm new to Sonar & when I call up the console view, it doesn't fit exactly on the screen & I have to scroll a little bit. The information either at the top or bottom is cut off. This is a big distraction. Am I missing something - is there a way to get it to...
Hi - I'm not new but not a power user like many here. I've been using an old version of Cakewalk for the ease of work flow & now looking at Sonar & Reaper...
When someone changes DAWs - that's a major step - & unless you stay with the same company, you wouldn't have access to all your...
Hi - When I finally upgrade to a new computer I need to keep using XP for music recording apps I use that will not be compatible with later Windows editions. Any advice? Thanks.
