    Some thoughts on this?

Okay, I know this is pretty bad But I want a general idea of how the drums sound. I’m not looking to do anything too hi-fi with this due to it being a quick demo, But, anyone have any thoughts on this? Please try to ignore the crappy echo reverb I have on them… It’s just a clip with a scratch...

    Some Crusty Old Punk

Yo... This was recorded with one mic on the Drums and Guitar... And one mic on the vocals... Live of course. I know the recording is ass (it's 'old-school' punk)... but how about the song? Any crusty punkers around here? http://www.fronder.com/bands/116/music.php "Propaganda Demo"

    Double Tracking Guitar

I'm curious as to how one mixes a double tracked guitar part? Would one hard-pan the two tracks left/right? And if so, would one apply effects like reverb to the summed parts Or to each part separately? I've never double tracked a part before and am curious as to how to mix it. Thanks ahead...

    A different style for me...

Wanted an Idea of the general sound from other folks... It's meant to be just a quick "intro" for my bands next CD. Kind of ambient goth/industrial/metal or something... Which will likely go into a fast "punk/metal" song... Anyways... Please offer any input... Good or Bad...

Low Cost Drum Recordings, for the studio challenged.

Anyone have any experience with this? www.DrumsForYou.com Seems like a viable option to me, For those who can't record their own drums, Or don't want to deal with midi and samples. You send them a scratch track of the song with a click track (no drums) They write the drum line for the song...

    Odd Guitar Rec. Setup

Is it bad that this is how I've found my guitar recordings sound best? Guitar ---> Metal Zone Pedal ---> Small 10W Practice Amp... The amp is in a large particle board/plexiglass cabinet that creates a space of about 3x3x3. This space is entirely enclosed. I've placed a mic(Audiotechnica snare...

    Stereo Field

Just wondering what the best way to spread the stereo field of instruments without having to double track... On a lot of commercial recordings I can tell there was only one guitar tracked, yet the stereo spread is wider than one would expect with only one guitar track. Just wondering how this is...

    Midi Bpm

Hey folks I was curious. Is there any way to easily convert a midi track that was sequenced at 120 BPM to a 240 BPM while keeping the same speed. Basically doubling the space between the MIDI notes. I have a sequenced drum track at 120 BPM while the bass got sequenced at 240 BPM. They are...

    Two Sound Cards

I have two soundcards in my computer. I was curious whether it is possible to use both soundcards to record at the same time… They are each stereo input, which means that in essence I could record 4 tracks at a time if I can get them both to record at the same time (through use of hard panning)...

    Which is better?

Which is (in general) a better way to record when multitracking? Stereo tracks, or mono tracks. Meaning should the guitar be recorded mono or stereo? Drums? Bass? Vocals? Or is it all preference? I find it easier to record everything in mono then mix it down with panning.
