As a newbie here, I'm wondering if there is any useful free software out there and I'm not talking about 30 day demos but actual free software such as Audiograbber etc. Multitracking software would much appreciated etc.

I have a Fostex X-26 and while i think i have figured most of it out, I still have not figured how to double-track on it yet. Unfortunately there were no instructions with it and I have no clue where to find instructions, can anyone shed some light on this matter?

I have been miking my whole drum kit with one sm58 and pointing it at the kick-drum, it actually picks up pretty well and gives a reasonable sound. Are there any tips for getting a better sound just using the one mic?
