One of my friends who also plays guitar has a certain amount of songs learnt note by note. He has spent interminable amounts of hours working from tablature and playing along with songs to get them spot on. We have this constant argument about eachothers playing styles/what we know and what we...
Your wasting your time thinking about it. The EBow adds a whole new dimension to your playing. They take a bit of getting used to but once you are then you will not regret it. I think the original EBow may have been discontinued-I have the new EBow plus.
By the way how much have you seem...
For optimum results when recording accoustic guitar at what angle roughly should my mics be?;downward/upward facing etc. I am using a SM57 and a NT-1.
Also would you say to use the SM for the sound hole and the NT-1 about a foot away or the other way around?
cheers.
I have a POD pro. One of the sounds that I am trying to get out of it is a longer hold to notes, like a Gary Moore kinda sound. I put it on delay, turn up the reverb etc but it still doesn't come.
Any ideas?-cheers.
The good thing about writing a song is that there are no rules. There is of course a stucture of say intro, verse, bridge (optional-as all of it is), chorus, instrumental; then say middle eight, solo etc.
How do you write your melodies, on guitar, on piano, what rules do you try and stick to?
I find writing good melodies usually the hardest part of songwriting-what do you think?
So your a song writer. We all write songs in different places with different surroundings. What's your favourite?
If I've had a shit day there's nothing like getting a drink (especially spirits), having nobody around and getting a piece of paper and a pencil and maybe the old accoustic guitar...
Would you rather write a song that you felt was great and loved or an anoying one that got on your nerves but reached the top ten?
And both things do not follow-some songs are realy shit after you've heard them 10 times and you don't listen to them any more, others grow on you.
Do you think that using the SM's will only provide a adequate sound worthy of a demo?. Really it's the question of SM58 on vocals cus I think the 57 works quite well on instruments-what do you think?
From what I've read on the rest of this forum it seems like the NT-1 would be quite a nice...
I have been recommended this mic and am looking at buying one but I would like to know people's opinions on the mic. It is currentley at a price of £200/$300.
So you play the guitar. Do you have fingernails that are embarassing or are you proud of them? I don't know if it's just me but I think playing especially on accoustic guitar that the sound is much better from finger picking rather than using a plectrum in a lot of songs. I try and cut the...
When i posted the accoustic guitar decision i got interesting feedback on the seagull guitar-do people really rate them above the Martin guitars (I could stand to save some money here (I haven't played a seagull yet but i'm getting down the shops next week to try em out))-so lets start an...
