Hi,
There seems to be few parametric outboard EQ's available on the market (certainly ones worth putting your money into), I know about the speck range (out of my range currently), the only other one I can find is this one that I know nothing about and have seen no reviews of; for the price I'm...
Howdy there;
OK; I've been thinking about investing in a Lexicon 500 for recording/mixing (full range of instruments), thing is I already have a TC Electronic G major (I don't really want to get into the quality of Lexicon-TC, that's all been done before) that I am quite happy with the quality...
OK; this seems to be well reviewed on this board. Could you tell me what the organ sounds are like; are they (organ and piano mainly) professional enough for preoffesional recordings/is there anything better in the price range.
I'm very tempted,
Thanks,
Krystof.
Hi,
I know this has been covered before a while back but are spectral analyzer's imperative for mixing (especially for home recordists without a refined ear and excellent monitors (to be able to actually visualise those hard to hear low bass frequencies rather than missing them)?
I mean to...
Hi,
Quick question regarding phantom power on preamps. If a mixer has global phantom power does that mean that the phantom power is either on all channels and when it's off not on any? That is how I've understood it.
The problem being using say two condensor mics and two shure sm-57's for...
Hi,
For anyone who owns or has used the Soundcraft folio notepad what are the preamps like? It says they are studio qualtiy and clean but it would say that wouldn't it.
I have a KORG D16 and need really to have the trim levels of the D16 as low as possible as they are noisey when up; I am...
Hi,
I am looking for a preamp for recording a multiple of sources. I am leaning towards the Mindprint Envoice, Joe Meek VC-1Q or the DBX 386 (not 376).
First things first; I have not tried any out yet (I ill of course before commiting) so I am going purely on what I've read so far.
The...
Hi,
As you may see from another post, I own a DM5. As I'm not a drummer primarily. Is there any standard(ish) guide to volumes for different pads/sounds.
ie. what volume would you assign to the following, relative to eachother (0-99 Possible):
-Kick
-Snare
-Toms
-Cymbals
-Hat(open/closed)...
Hi,
The trigger (number 5) doesn't work on my DM5. I've checked the levels and tried various pads but it deffinatley is the trigger that doesn't receive data.
Any ideas of what it could be/how to remidy this?
Thanks,
Krystof.
HI,
I have a Jazz bass. I opened it up with the intention of replacing my pick-ups to the seymour duncan pair I've bought. The pots on the bass are all 500, the schematics that came with the SD pick-ups say 250 (which I myself though would have been in there).
What are the implications of...
Hi,
How easy is it to make an amplifier? Would it work out cheaper if you knew what you were doing? How easy would it be to replicate an amp (expensive one)?
Any thoughts?
Hi,
The following condition applies (well, not really):
-Maximum of one amp (no and/or, or comments on other peoples choices).
Which amp is the best:
-all round
-you can only have one amp (i.e. for both clean/overdrive/crunch etc)
-money isn't an object but I want your choice (i.e. not...
Hi,
I am looking at buying another telecaster. I got a mexican and modified it but there is a chance that I can buy a fat telecaster as well.
So my question. What is significant about the californina series of fender guitars. The price I am able to obtain this guitar suggests that it is...
I have recently posted two threads on guitar modifications whcih got my mind into thinking about how well I know my guitars; how well I know my way around a guitar.
How well do you know/trust yourself with your guitar(s)? Do you just play them and not pay attention to anything else? Can you...
Hi,
What would be the implications of stripping the guitar to it's natural state (i.e.wood (in most cases))? Is it liable to make the guitar more uinstable/vulnarable?
Thanks,
Krystof.
Hi,
I have a few guitars with 21 frets. I would like to add a 22nd (having that extra D on the top); how feasable is it? There is a little extra space to 'cram' one in, would it work and how hard would it be?
Thanks; any ideas welcome (except buy another guitar or neck),
Krystof.
Hi,
I don't know if this is old news for you lot (Americans). I got an e-mail through today from the UK distributer of tech 21. There is now a sans amp bass driver rack mounted version. It has the addition of a mid control from what I can see. The price is almost twice that of theoriginal...
That got your attention; if your reading this.
OK, on all my guitars the E string (thin one) brakes first; thats logical, yes?
But what I don't get is why my G string on all of my guitars is the first to go out of tune and quite dramatically at that. Is there a logical explanation to this...
