Beatles recorded Sgt Pepper using a 4-track machines. If they didn't bounce how many tracks would they have used?

Talisman seems to be the only one who really understood the question. I get it. With all the bouncing and overdubs, how many tracks did they REALLY use? It's a cool question and might be impossible to answer. But it was definitely NOT just 4 tracks, or even 8.

Do you need to be on a label to join Bandcamp

Youtube is a little different. I upload my covers there too, and they always get a copyright "Claim", which is different from a copyright "Strike". All that means is that any ad revenue goes to the copyright holder. LOL! They can have it. I have never had a song taken down from Youtube and I've...

Do you need to be on a label to join Bandcamp

I have about 30 covers as well as about 30 originals on my Band Camp page. I didn't get any licensing for them and didn't ask for permission. I'm not worried about it. If anyone has a problem with it, they'll contact me and I'll take the offending song down.

Do you need to be on a label to join Bandcamp

Hi Eric. As far as I can see, there is no catch. You retain the copyright to everything you do. So, you don't have to worry about someone else making that $1.35 a year. That's all yours. :D

A label? No, not at all. Anyone and their grandmother can join Band Camp.

    Venting on V7.X

I've seen a few issues with Version 7. But, to be honest, 90% of them turn out to be either user-error or just a slight change in how something is accomplished. 5% are answered by either Justin or Schwa with "That's a bug that will be fixed in the next update", and it does get fixed. So, the...

    Too compressed

I wouldn't. Just don't clip. I don't think I could tell you what the level of any of my tracks are in any of my songs. I just make sure they don't individually or collectively peak past 0.

    Too compressed

I'm not directing what I'm going to say at anyone in particular. Just addressing something I've read/heard way too many times over the years.... I don't understand why non-drummers always claim that real drummers will play off the beat to sound "human". That's simply not true. If a drummer...

    Mean! :D

Oh, politics in the MP3 clinic. This should end well. :D I had no idea this was about Biden. Weird, I could have sworn it would have been about you sucking a big orange dick. Don't forget to donate like a good little minion. He needs your money. Don't forget.....he loves the un-educated. Thanks...

Dream a little dream of me (Mama Cass cover)

The potential problem she might run into if she doubles up the click is that it will have a straight 8th note feel, while the song has more of a dotted 8th or triplet feel. I agree with you about somehow doubling up the click though, because 50bpm leaves a lot of room between clicks and can lead...

    Questions about compressors

Mr. Maroo's post above is very helpful. Read it twice...or thrice.... maybe even quice...... Unfortunately, I can't help you with that one. Other more knowledgeable people will hopefully come in with a NON-CONVOLUTED, SIMPLE explanation. :) Not really. As mentioned, a compressor has nothing to...

Well Johnny, if you weren't confused about compressors before you asked, you most probably are now. :D :D :D

Been a long time...a couple new mixes (indie rock type music)

Yeah, that's my fugly mug. :D I love Copeland. Probably the most innovative Pop/Rock drummer in the history of music. I'm not even the biggest Police fan. I like them and they have some great tunes, but I think Copeland's drumming is better than the Police's songs. :)

Been a long time...a couple new mixes (indie rock type music)

That's really nice, too, Human. ❤️❤️❤️ I love the vibe of Nola's original mix, but this one does feature the vocals more, which is also a good thing. I think I just love this song so much that it would take a really horrendous mix for me to not like it.

Now THAT'S how you approach a tune you've never heard before. I like what he did on that as much as the original. It's not better or worse, just different, and it works. Much better that that other jazz clown, no comparison. (To be honest, I almost never listen to drummers. I'm more into...

Newbie to Drum Recording! Tom mics and overheads without breaking the bank?!

I'm not sure. They're the ones in the link at the bottom of my post. Guess they're called "Stage" or something? Yes, the D-112 is a great kik mic. Putting the CAD kik mic on my floor tom really works well.

Newbie to Drum Recording! Tom mics and overheads without breaking the bank?!

I got set of CAD mics a couple of years ago. I already had a pair of Rode Nt-1's for overheads, a Shure mic for my snare, and a D-112 for my kik. So, I used the CADS on my toms and put the CAD kik drum mic on my floor tom, which sounds fantastic. You don't need to spend a lot on drum mics...

    Drum Cover Videos

It's a cool concept. Attacking tunes you've never heard before and putting your take on them. But, I got to be honest, the dude can play, but I can't stand his drumming, if that makes sense. Even it doesn't, it makes sense to me. :D Perfect example of a very technically talented musician who...
