    Quick question: Tascam M-224

What do you think of the sound quality of these? They are just exactly what I need functionalitywise, which means that they are below what I actually want (I like to buy stuff that I can keep when expanding) but they are quite cheap...

I got mine (all five of them)

And listen through it this weekend. Loads of not very good stuff, of course, we are after all a bunch of homewreckers, but there is also some fantastic stuff! So far my favourite is undoubtedly sm2ks "Crawling with the ants". Excellent production, create song, good lyrics, cool arrangement...

Just a hint for a cheap console!

A month ago I put a bid on this console for 400 pounds, but was outbid by ten bucks. Quite annoying. Now this guy wasn't serious, so the console is back on track (now with 400 punds as a starter) but I'm out of money! I've just got a new apartment to move into and need to ship all my stuff...

    For sale!

Homerecording.comp volume II Trust me, you want this. It's VERY useful to listen to others mistakes. I learnt a lot from Volume I. https://homerecording.com/compcd/v2order.html

    The digital revolution: Our gain!

I think it's finally happening. Small project and home studios are going fully digital. Not only are they using digital recorders (which has been the norm for a while now, making all these Tascam and Fostex multitracks cheap) now they are ditching their analog mixer boards too. Check these out...

Which compressor to compress a mix?

I'd like recommendations on which compressor to use to compress the final mix, mostly to make songs a bit louder. Everything in the budget range of $100 to $1000 would probably be interesting (but to different people). So, go ahead, with recommendations, opinions, and rants!

    Coolness: Vintage DIGITAL!

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2545466019&category=41475 It's a 8-channel digital mixer, with motorized faders, effects and all that stuff from 1987!!! Man, that must have been seriously expensive back then. It was a lot of processor power to chuck into a box in 1987. And...

For the serious vintage analog collector

A totally bizarre-looking 24 ch mixer! http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2536556658&category=23785 I want! :) Or actually, I really want this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=2536596093&category=23785 But just as the other one, it's in the US, so too...

    New Yamaha MG-series of mixers?

Cheap, and it's Yamaha! Any opinions? Have anybody fiddled with them already? Sure means I'm happy I didn't get that second hand Tascam 2524 for 1000 euro (unseen), when I can get a new 24 ch Yamaha for 900 euro. ;)

Got my comp CD this friday!

Verrry interesting. And almost all of it so much better than my stuff... Oh well.

    Yay! I'm gonna submit!

I have no fixed my broken computer, and can therefore finally burn a CD with the best recording I've done. OK, the mix can be sustantially improved, but it will do. :)

What would you say of a product like this:

A rackmount effect processor, that has - 4 independent 24/96k INs and OUTs that - can be arranged in any combination of mono/stereo and 4ch surround, and well, even 3-channel surround, if you want. - can run 4 different programs at once (each independently accessing all ins and outs) -...

    Yamaha RM800

Anybody has any experience with these babies? It has the features I would need in a mixer, and a mixer is what I need the most right now. So, OK, this one is in the US, and hence the wrong voltage, and besides, he'll won't ship to europe, but is this something to keep my eyes open for? The...

    Headphones for LISTENING, not mixing.

I have tinnitus. I think it gets worse when I use headphones. When actually listening, I realized that most headphones have very much high end, so I bought some really bassy ones, so I wouldn't have to turn up the volume so much to hear the bass. Result: With the bassy headphones + the nega...

    Svedish disajn.

I know a guy that works at this cool design company, and decided to check out their web. Lo and behold, they make sound proofing too. :) http://www.snowcrash.se/products/sound_wave/index.php It will probably cost you an arm and a leg, but I like them. Especially the sound diffusers. They have...

    One cool drum machine

Or rather two of them. :-) This 30MB mp3 contains a live performance of "Valve" done with two Elektron Machinedrum drummachines and nothing else. http://www.elektron.se/superparty/audio/valve.mp3 I'm currently 12 minutes through the set, and not bored yet. :) I want one of these beasts, but...

    Buro Klok - Final mix????

http://www.easypublisher.com/downloads/buro_klok_-_desert_lullaby_1.mp3 So, what do you say? It's one of my better songs, and the mixing doens't get much better. If I had a parametric EQ that finger piano might sound a bit better, and the bass could be a bit tighter, but it'll do. Hmmm. Maybe...

    I can't beleive it's Buro Klok!

Well, I can really. And so can you. It sounds just like it always does. :) This is the second mix with somebody who can sing. You have heard it before, but with me croaking. Now a better singer *and* a better mix. :) http://www.easypublisher.com/downloads/buro_klok_-_toys_for_guns (ps Sorry...
