Sort of sixties garage sound a la...
sort of like early Who/early Stones like the needles in the red, that sort of thing. What would I need? Ideally looking at something with 8 tracks as it's only me and a drummer recording the instruments and vocals for like a demo album. Thanks
Hi, just received an acoustic guitar in the post which was bubble wrapped, cardboard wrapped and in a box. I've undone the guitar already seeing as the packaging wasn't offering much insulation to around room temp 20'C - should I wait before tuning it up and if so how long? Thanks
Ok this is the situation: I am recording on a Fostex 4 track cassette the following...
track 1: drums and bass
track 2: acoustic guitar
track 3: electric guitar
track 4: vocals
Because I need the drums and bass on one track, I’m recording them separately on a digital tascam 8 track and then...
Is it weird to have a lot of eye contact with audience members? Obviously I'm not talking about staring just one person out throughout the whole concert, but I mean say every now and then look at different people in the audience for a few seconds or more, just enough to be significant?
Or is...
To you, what makes the perfect set? ie fast songs, a random mix, well known songs, slow ballads, up tempo opening songs etc
I'm just wondering but this would also be useful to my band when planning a setlist :D
Hi,
I'm about to start recording a 4 track album and wondered if this was the most sensible order...
1. rhythm guitar (acoustic) - track 1
2. bass + drums - track 2
3. lead guitar - track 3
4. vocals and backing vocals - track 4
thanks :)

If anyone can advise me I'd much appreciate it. I'm about to record a 'budget' album with my band in the hope that the sales we get from it will fund the proper album so I have acquired a Fostex 4 track cassette recorder to do it on - we're fans of 'vintage' recordings ie delta blues and that...
How do I get the gravelly voice? Mavers doesn't always do it but occasionally does... he's got quite a distinctive voice.

Hi,
I'm probably going to sound like Lee Mavers here, but how do I go about getting a decent 60s sound that captures the 'true' sound of the instruments? I've been doing digital recording both at home and in the studio and I don't feel happy with the sound I'm getting - I think going analogue...
Hi,
I'm new here and thinking of getting a Tascam portastudio. I looking to get a cassette one, 8 track if possible but 4 is ok, that I can put finished tracks through to a cd burner or something, so I can give the cds of the parts for other band members to learn. If there is such a model can...
